Maybe counting my chickens before they hatch, but if LSU wins out:
Beating the following teams(rankings at time of game):
#2 Alabama
#2 Alabama
#3 Arkansas
#3 Oregon
#16 West Virginia
#17 Florida
#19 Auburn
#25 Mississippi State
even though those last 4 teams haven't lived up to those rankings, that is still an impressive slate.
where's Georgia?

So the NCAA has created a formula based on stats that is supposed to calculate a rating that allows the teams to be ranked based on their "power" or strength. The current rankings should serve as Exhibit "A" for the argument that the NCAA's formula is flawed. My question to the NCAA... What is the point of these rankings if you know they are flawed? Anybody can create a formula using whatever set of numbers they want, but it is pointless if the results do not reflect reality! I sure hope that these rankings do not illustrate how the NCAA really views the strength of the teams. For those people advocating a playoff system, these rankings might (unfortunately) provide some insight into how messed up the NCAA's selection process might operate!

Stats are for losers. At least that is what was said over the years. So at least we are not number one.
