I'm sure it's just me, but I can't figure out one good reason to look at or discuss the AP poll.

he must have seen the UT game.
remember, we had LOST when time expired, but we were saved by UT's substitutes.
winning against a mediocre opponent, on an untimed down given by grace due to a defensive penalty as time expired = 16th place.

Because the Harris and Coaches polls do not reveal their ballots, so the AP poll is the most accurate reflection we can get of how voters see LSU, particularly Harris poll voters.

AP is not in the BCS so it is irrelevant

Well the #16 team in the official AP poll scored 50 pts on McNeese in 3 quarters. LSU had 22 pts in 3 quarters vs McNeese.

Reading comprehension?
The AP ballots allow your best guess as to how the Harris poll voters are guessing. Does the AP matter in the BCS? No. Does the AP allow you to get a feel for how the Harris voters are casting their ballots? Yes, of course. They are usually very close.

So if no one regards the AP poll, why do we still have it?
