I barely know what I'm doing! I'm just a dad who bought a camera to take pics of his daughter cheering, and it kinda evolved into this as a hobby. I borrowed a camera for the LSU-VaTech game four years ago from a friend, and ended up buying the same set up as she had. So I can only tell you what I use, a Canon Rebel XTi. I did get a 70/300 zoom, which seems to be a lot better than the 70/200. The whole package cost about $1,500.00 back then. I guess it really depends on what kind of photography she is going to do. I would post this on the OT as there are a lot of expert photographers that can give you better advice than me. Good luck to her!
