Last night driving back to Atlanta from Auburn I had the radio on to some station listening to the Aubies cry in their (soy) beer. It was a glorious drive!!

I was somewhat concerned before the game due to the fact we were seated in a section that was definitely Auburn fans. When we went to take our seats we were treated to a hardy round of booing and taunts all good natured. After the game I received at least 8 handshakes while leaving. The fans were great and surprisingly polite.

The biggest kick I got out of the Aubie fans was before the game. Where we parked there was a tailgate going on. When they noticed our purple and gold they welcomed us over. In a good natured attempt at humor they then proceeded to offer my group.....corndogs!. They were actually giving out corndogs to all LSU fans they saw. When we left those guys were long gone.

Why were gumps at the LSU/Auburn game?

Had it been the Bama game doubt you would have gotten any handshakes.

Gumps are Alabama fans, not Auburn fans. Get it right.

You do know that “Gumps” are Alabama fans right? Not Auburn.

Smiled...took it...said thanks then dropped it on the ground in front of them. Told them they might be hungry after the game when they got their asses kicked.

Also, I pretty much refer to all backwoods Alabamians as gumps.

I don't understand this retort.

Then you would be using the term incorrectly.

I loved driving back to Oxford today! I was paid $1,400 to leave Oxford (Airbnb rental) go to my girlfriend's house, and watch an amazing LSU-Auburn game. That's a win win win!
