quote:Add to that USCe. The Cockpit is consistantly packed by longsuffering, loyal and LOUD fans.
Auburn and Alabama should both be ranked higher, especially Auburn, IMO.

Tiger Stadium is rarely loud anymore imo. Alabama last year was pretty loud. Florida 07 was louder than that. Those 2 games are the only ones that really stand out over the last 5 years or so. In 2000 there were 2-3 games that left my ears ringing. That hasn't happened in a while.
This, now that LSU is a dominating team, they rarely get up for many games. Only for Alabama or if Florida or Auburn are good, does Tiger Stadium get loud.

quote:I am not surprised by this. I have not been to a game in a while but I would imagine this to be true just by what I can see on tv. The fans leave early and seem to come only to be entertained and not get involved.

Your opinion is good and all, but the facts say that Memorial Stadium has been louder than Tiger Stadium ever has been.

I don't know how much I trust that. Is there always someone available with a decibel meter?
IDK, just doesnt seem representative of reality

It makes sense to me. It is more about stadium design than # of people.
People are bashing Husky stadium for only holding 70k, but doesn't that clearly make it the loudest? It has 20k less people than tier stadium and has reached louder levels.
Loudness per person, it isn't even close.
eta: There is nothing wrong with being 3rd. It is funny how offended LSU fans get by the idea that Tiger Stadium might not be the loudest stadium in the country.

I have no idea if Tiger Stadium is the loudest, but I'd love to visit someday and see it in person.
you had your chance but your ex-chicken-s---t AD turned down the deal. He wanted a home and home $1million to come here and 250K to go there. Then your local reporters say everyone scared to come to play on your gymboree floor. Yeah--scared to lose money--that's about it.

Is there an updated version of this or something?
I've been to Husky stadium. It's not that loud. It has a track around it, so the fans are further away from the field. It is also open on one end.
I'm sure that survey was done by a reputable and independent source...

I went to an LSU game in the 90s.
Wasn't that loud.
Now, do you see how silly that is?
In 1992 they were defending champs, ranked #2, and playing #12 nebraska.

So then how do you rank them? Based on this year? This decade?
Because it will change from year to year for sure.
