Alex Box regional play is what College Baseball is all about. Should be required for any fans to experience it.

Man, did I unleash the floodgates there! lol
-- This OSU team is like most Pat Casey teams, solid pitching and defense. Not power up and down the line up, but Conforto is a stud and probably the best power hitter. Team plays scrappy baseball to get on with timely hitting when playing best.
Wetzler will probably go Friday, but Fry is also capable of being a Friday guy, throwing great lately with 2.48 ERA. The wildcard if he goes on Sat is how he deals with the crowds (and going vs your ace Gausman?). He can step up in big games, so we'll see.
The game's won't be televised but we'll be streaming it to our HDTV since it's been confirmed the regional will be on ESPN3. Hopefully the quality is decent.
As for the Beaver jokes...lol...believe me, I've heard them all!

We've got a pretty solid starting pitching rotation that kept us in just about every game. The trouble on the mound has come from our bullpen - which going into the season looked to be pretty damn strong but for whatever reason hasn't been. Our closer came in as a preseason All-American, but has struggled mightily.
Our hitting hasn't been bad, but we've had a serious problem of leaving runners on base (particularly during the middle of the season). We are patient at the plate and draw a lot of free passes. The heart of our lineup, now healthy, looks pretty good with Tyler Smith, Michael Conforto (conference freshman of the year for sure), and Danny Hayes. John Tommasinni is an excellent glove at 2nd base, but is almost an automatic out at the plate.
The biggest weakness (other than the bullpen) is a lack of team speed. We've typically had a lot of it under Pat Casey, but this year's squad has very little. You won't see many attempted steals from OSU.

Kevin Gausman is LSU's ace. He is 10-1 on the year. He'll be one of the first five names called out in next weeks MLB draft. Tall right hander that clocks 94-97 mph on his fastball. This year he developed better off speed pitches, including a good change up. He led the SEC in strikeouts. Gausman will pitch LSU's second game.
Our bullpen was a major strength until the last two weeks of our season. Our closer blew his only two saves of the year iand has looked shaky in his last 4 appearances. Other than that, the bullpen has been arguably LSU's key to success.
LSU is not a great hitting team once you get past the 3 of the first 4 hitters. We do have college baseball's best hitter for average, Raph Rhymes. He was hitting .500 for the season with only about 7 games left. After a mini- slump, for him, he's still hitting .460. His hits are not meaningless. His average with runners in scoring position are ridiculous. The rest of the batters have been up and down, but with our pitching we realistically will win most games if we just scratch across 4 runs.

Sweet! Was hoping CSN might pick the games up.
So much for doing any house work this weekend!

Yeah, lol when your mascot is a Beaver there's a lot of creative shirt options. Was donning my classic orange "Beaver Believer" shirt for the LSU game. Always good for laughs and got plenty of free beers!

Our catcher is excellent vs the steal. Almost all successful steals are on our pitchers. We don't steal or run the bases very well and imo our 3rd base coach is lacking in skill, both at 3rd and as our hitting coach.Regardless, I predict we whip that beaver butt on Saturday. Thanks for playing.
