Schmidt is the only weekend guy on this team right now

By weekend guy you mean Sunday starter yes… maybe. Depends on who Jay brings in. Schmidt has yet to prove he can get through a lineup twice in his college career

Really depends on if Pearson can make strides at 3rd or 1st. He wasn’t great at either this year.

If you get 2 stud OFs you put Braun at first. If you get a 3rd baseman and of you put Pearson at 1st and braun in of. If you get a stud 1st baseman you put Pearson at 3rd and Braun in the Of

Maybe Hardin takes a step and that helps the team in Of.

All of this depends what Jay is able to pull from the portal who stays. Who goes and who we get to campus from Hs and what if they can make an impact.

Realistically

Starters:
Ruckert
Braun
Serna
Cade
Patrick

50/50
Pearson

Maybe:

Harden

So you’re looking for 1-2 starting Of
1 SS if Milam doesn’t come back.
And a 1B and 3B depending what you get in Of and what’s available.

Also rumblings both Milam and Curiel return so that would help.

Ostrander is an outstanding pitching coach.

I think he’s the best in the business at developing pitchers.

we have a ton of young pitchers.

Evans, sophomore
Schmidt, sophomore
Rizy, sophomore
Cooper Williams, sophomore
Lachenmayer, sophomore
Plog, sophomore
Ricken, freshman
Sheerin, sophomore
Theophilus, freshman
Paz, freshman

I don't feel good about all those guys. I think a few of them get processed

Arrambide and Serna both hit 20+ homers next season

Are both locks to be back?

Pitching is by far the biggest need for improvement. Need a lot of arms in relief.
