Eh…Tennessee, Auburn and UGA were all good programs at the time. Yeah, you didn’t have a juggernaut but you had a lot of solid programs going after southeastern talent.
And it’s not like recruiting LA during that time period was anything like it is today. We weren’t far removed from the years where the top in-state talent rarely went to LSU.

Saban built LSU’s program. After 19. O has done a lot to put it in the shitter.
