Regardless of what you think about Orgeron or this situation, we are where we are and its time to look forward. I think the only OC hire that can be called a success at this point, is Hugh Freeze. I believe Orgeron needs a "Yes" man or someone who he has experience with and Freeze is the only candidate available who Orgeron would trust as that, but who is also qualified enough as a high level OC who can come in and make LSU successful on offense in 2018.

Who do you think is the best, realistic candidate for 2018? Realistic meaning Orgeron would actually trust them and let them do their job.

Freeze and O aren’t compatible according to what I’ve read. I like the idea though.

Kendall Briles or Sterlin Gilbert would be good.

Logically, the best thing for O to do is name himself OC in 2018.

I would think Dan Enos fits what we've traditionally tried to do the best and he has performed in this conference.

I don't think it is possible to say who the best is. There are categories of Solid, Gamble, and WTF?

Simply put, from a very reliable #sauce, Orgeron and Freeze, despite what has been said publicly, neither like, nor trust one another. Yes, Orgeron hired him at Ole Miss, as part of the whole Tuohy-Michael Oher package. After that, the relationship was never particularly cordial. Orgeron also believes that Freeze politic’d with Ole Miss power brokers behind his back — I can’t speak to the truth of that one way or another, only that it’s what Orgeron believes.

I dont think any of these are realistic given what we have seen from Orgeron to this point.

What do you think is realistic?

If Orgeron is the common factor ruling out all elite OCs, then maybe it’s not the OC position that needs to be addressed.

You're probably right. Lubick may be since he worked with O at Ole Miss but I'm probably giving O too much credit at this point

No "big name" is going to want the job after this well-publicized debacle. That's really the worst part of it.

Ensminger is by far the best option. His offense last season was every bit as good as Canada fielded this year. He knows the players and the program and chemistry with O is already there. No brainer really.

To guarantee we never sniff an SECCG.

That’s what you want?

The negativity surrounding the program going into next year would be crippling if that happens imo.
