He punched the guy from the side. He did not get in front of the guy and square up on him.

Square up?

The dude had to be blind or suffering from tunnel vision not to see that punch coming.

Hill was wrong for taking part in the fight and his high fiving was classless, but as bar parking lot fights go his punch was nothing that terrible and nothing for any of us to get our panties in a wad over.

1- Hill took a cheap shot on the dude.
2- Hill embarrassed himself/LSU by not even knocking the guy down/out
3- I'd be highly surprised if he isn't suspended some way

It's really not that bad. What a lot of you are failing to remember is that the dude probably instigated it and thus IMO, deserved it. If anything, the dude who got hit should be mad at his boys for not having his back but that probably gives you a little insight in to it. They probably didn't help him because they heard all the crap he was talking and felt he was stupid for it. They also probably saw who he was talking crap to and they were smarter than him and they didn't get involved.

BTW, the only fair fights are professional ones, street fights are never fair, it's anything goes.

I hate to agree with you in principle, but I do.

I've been in plenty of fights in my younger days. Most people have, young bucks looking to get laid or fight, not necessarily in that order sometimes. And some of it even looked like this video on giving or receiving end.

That said, he needs to know better and not get involved. His lack of realization of that is a shining beacon of bad news.

I would like to think if he saw the punch coming, his human instinct of blocking his face would appear.

Quit sugarcoating the hit.

Ok, now what if it's Jeremy Hill who's the one that's staggering and gets sucker punched. Are you still in here saying "anything goes in the skreets"??

Completely agree. I mean, most of these people saying he should be thrown off the team must have been perfect when they were in college. Also, we are just judging Hill based off of 30 secs of video. What happened before all this for that dude to have so many people wanting to beat his arse?

Enough of this sanctimonious crap! You guys that are horrified by this video are probably the same guys who sleep like a baby after laying off some of your people to maintain your profit margin/lifestyle or smile broadly when a stock you own jumps because management just announced it was eliminating its pension program.

Just what do you consider a crime, anyway?

I don't think anyone is judging his solely on 30 secs of video.

He was already on probation and has now pleaded guilty to another crime.

People need to stop making excuses because he's a football player. My advice to him comes from the movie Liar Liar, "stop getting arrested a-hole!"

Lol. Your funny.

I don't care about Hill that much, but if I did happen to him, I would be laughing even harder seeing that white dude do that to him. Good try at being cute though buddy, but I didn't come in here to defend Hill as a person and I don't take sides because of him being an LSU athlete. Matter of fact, out of the few that I've met/known, most have pretty annoying and inflated egos.

Those who are shocked and appalled by this video have not spent much time outside of a bar on a weekend night.

Punishment is appropriate for his bad decision, but wrecking his career does no one any good. A two game suspension would be appropriate.

The career wrecking comes from him being a repeat offender. He was on probation when he did this stupid shite.

I definitely agree with you on that. Dude is stupid for doing that while on probation.

Second stupidest thing I've read this week.

Running up and punching someone from behind out if the blue is, is it not?

Well, if Hill was just walking around sneaking people then I'd agree with you. This incident just has more layers. I don't think Hill is a dangerously violent person or else that kid would still be in the hospital. He deserves a suspension. That's it.
