Like most, I have mixed emotions about the SEC tourney.

But what concerns me the most, is Dugas collapsing at the plate.
If his bat heats up for regionals and Supers, then I like our chances to get to Omaha....but if he stays down, it's killing us on the back end. His at bat in the 9th yesterday doesn't give me much confidence. That was really bad. Hopefully he can shake it off. Thank God Travinski (sp?) Is some what offsetting it.
Also, think I a more scared of getting out of a regional than Super. With Hurd coming along, I like us winning 2 games. But in a regional having to win 3 possibly 4, it gets complicated quickly. Hopefully we don't land any deep pitching staffs in our regional.

He was hitting/fielding great before the shoulder injury

Completely agree. He hasn't been the same since the injury. Which also doesn't give me much confidence looking fwd. However, he is still the best option we got.

I feel like this team certainly does not think that it can flip a switch when it matters most.

Middle infield depth needs to be a priority in the off-season. Gonna need a 2B and SS from the transfer portal. These last couple seasons of not having any alternative when starting middle infielders struggle is very frustrating

You don’t make any sense. With Hurd coming along nicely, we are positioned very well to breeze through a regional.

Think about it…. Hurd starts game one on Friday against the 4 seed. If our bats are even at 50% of potential, we win going away.

Skenes gets the start Saturday against the 2/3 seed winner. We most likely get their #2 pitcher, as their ace has to pitch game one. Easy win

Floyd gets the Sunday night start against the loser bracket winner’s #4 pitcher. Again, if our bats hit pretty decently, again easy win.

In the Super is where it gets dicey. Must win game one with Skenes. Must get a good start from Floyd and he must pitch into the 7th inning. Need a very good outing from our bull pen. Lose this game , and things get real interesting. Hurd starts and goes 6. Need another great effort from our pen to hold on.

Hopefully, by "mixed emotions," it means you are getting some enjoyment out of the games.

Baseball is a great game and watching talented teams play each other is a good way to enjoy a couple of hours. Of course, it is more fun when the team you root for wins, but to me it sometimes seems like people let their concerns override their enjoyment sometimes miss the enjoyment.
