Biggest question mark on next year's team.

What do you think we can expect out of this group?

Tahj Jones
Kevin Minter
Lamin Barrow
Seth Fruge (BEEEEAST!)

Incoming Freshmen:

Ronnie Feist
Lamar Louis
Deion Jones
Trey Granier
Lorenzo Phillips
Maybe Kwon Alexander or Corey Thompson?

Call me crazy, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Mingo playing a hybrid DE/OLB position. I think the coaching staff will enjoy getting Rasco to the field without having to take Mingo or Montgomery out.

In the BCS game, we saw glimpses of Mingo dropping into coverage. Expect a little more of this against teams who roll the pocket.

Luke Muncie saw a little PT this year. D.J. Welter and Josh Johns are also on the roster.

Jones, Minter, and Barrow likely set to make a lot of plays next year but don't forget about Muncie.

Also, LOTS of talent in the incoming Freshman group.

I imagine those will be the starters, unless one of the youngsters comes in and really impresses from the get go (Feist/Louis).

Tahj showed flashes, and surely can't be any worse than Francois.

Minter is a really good downhill run stopper, but lacks at other parts in his game.

Barrow has shown good sideline-to-sideline speed and a knack for big hits and undisciplined play.

We need better effort from them, particularly in coverage.

The 2012 linebackers are certainly an unknown, but I would say that the single biggest question mark is who will play corner opposite Simon. JMO.

Only if we switch to a 3-4. I'm not sure Chavis has ever coordinated a true 3-4 - he likes more of a 4-2-5 look, if anything.

Mingo played the type of position you suggest in HS, though.

Will be a safety.

We are thin there, this season.

Our current safeties are: Reid, Gibson, Loston.

Well, we have Maximus' All-Star, if you count him.

Met Barrow in NOLA during the BCSCG weekend. The guy certainly passes the eye test.

Our LB's should be better than they were this year with all the playing time they had. And not that he was as bad this year, but we lost Hatcher. I never saw where he helped much in coverage.

Liston needs to put it together. He hasn't been near the player we need/expect. Much like his cousin.
