I think we match up well and I think we have a great shot.

Their offense is ranked 84th and they have had problems just getting the ball to the QB all season. The interception that Brantley threw against Bama that they returned was ugly as it gets.

Gonzales knows a lot about the personnel and coaching at Florida.

I'll say this again, I like the way we match up against Florida.

This is what I believe:

I think Meyer is just cocky enough to kick it to Peterson at least a couple of times.

I think if we run straight at Florida we can have success there with Ridley around 100 yards again.

I like our D-line against their o-line, especially with Pouncey struggling with his move from guard to center. I think Nevis gives him big troubles all night.

DE will play disciplined containment football and let Kelvin and company make plays on the edge when necessary.

I think our defense is quick enough that it is perfect to stop Florida.

I think the players only meeting brings the team together and they play united and determined, clean football.

I think Lee plays at least half of the snaps and I think he can have some success spreading them out.

As I said in another post, I think if we score at least 10-14 points, we will win because our defense will hold them under 250 yards and 14 10 points.

Let's talk about the match-ups this weekend. I think we stand as good a chance at winning as we have since 07.

We can win, but it'll take no more than one turnover, very few penalties, and more than 17 pts.

Playing clean, smart football is the key...we can't turn the ball over as many times as we did last Saturday and expect to win. If we play the kind of football that I think we can, we can win...but I'm not so sure we'll see much improvement from last week...hope I'm wrong.

Pressure Brantley and attack Pouncey. Both are very vulnerable right now.

I expect Nevis to dominate in this game. Other than having a pocket passer with limited mobility, they have also had center QB exchange problems and I expect it to continue.

I am a little worried about Demps, but other than that I think we really match up well.

Demps in space is nasty but I think we can keep him bottled up. I know he is faster than Devine but we shut Devine completely down and I think he is a more complete back than Demps.

Just don't give him space and I think we will be okay in that area. I like our LBs flowing side to side.

If we can get some enthused play from the offense as what we saw in that last drive for the better part of the game we will win hands down. We have the speed on defense to keep up with their play guys and I believe that we have more playmakers on offense than they do.

If JL can play without any mistakes and we can score TD's inside the redzone that will be key in keeping the momentum and sustaining drives. We also have to cutback on the penalties and dropped balls. That to me is staying focused and staying in the moment.

If we do that we will win.

Florida seems to have a good secondary, does that worry anyone else with our tendency to chunk it up?

It is the one area that worries me, if we give them a couple of extra possessions on short fields I feel it will not bode well. And we lose in a close one.

If we feed Ridley, and get Randle and Shep in space on a few short throws, and land a big one or two avoiding the turnovers....I think we win in a close one.

This is going to be a statement game for LSU

We're not going to blow UF out but we will win the game. It's tough to win in the swamp but we match up too well with them.

Our defense has the potential to shut their offense out.

The key is to get off to a fast start with field position. If we can dictate field position early in the game, we'll smother them.

Boy I am glad we have Gonzo and not the Gayturds! Say what you will about our WRs production, their blocking has been nearly flawless (other than a penalty or two that I remember)

Yes. This has to happen. If we do that, 17 might actually hold up.

I don't get all the LSU fans thinking UF will score 20 to 30+ points on us, our defense is just as good if not better than Bama's and they could only manage 6 against them. Granted they play at home against us, but it still shouldn't make that huge of a difference.

We go into Florida and win the coin toss.

Do we go the traditional D sets the tone and defer?

Or

Do we go the Iowa Hawkeyes make a statement with the offense?

I know I choose the first but that second option would break trends and help to set the tone for the offense. We've had good drives early in games this year; we just haven't always finished them and driven them into the endzone.

This was my post from a thread I started, before I saw this one:

Burton is their only explosive weapon. They can't line up and run the ball at will. None of their WRs have stepped up to fill the big play void. They have talent for sure but not enough in the right areas to make a dent in our defense.

I am worried about our DE situation, however. Mingo will be on the field a lot, and when you combine that with Florida's short RBs, expect a facemask penalty.

Will it be just Aghayere, Edwards, and Mingo at the two end positions? Adams is listed on the depth chart this week, but is for sure a full go?

Florida matches up well with LSU.

LSU's QBs throw a lot of INTs and UF catches a lot of INTs.

Outside of the one sloppy return they gave up to JJ they have excellent special teams coverage, and have been the best or near the best at that category for 5 years now.

They have a big deep DL, so LSU can't wear them down like they have some of their other opponents.

And the offense, except for one bad game, protects the football pretty well.

Adams is a go according to the miles presser today.

I agree, they're not nearly as explosive as in the previous couple of years.

I can't imagine how they will score more than 20 on us (unless we somehow put them in short field a couple of times). I like our D against Bama's so far this season so it will be tough for them to score more than 14 I would say.

Another thing I like about the team this year is that I feel like they are finishing better than in 08-09. I think that helps us going in if it's a defensive battle.

I think we need to practice ball control. Give them plenty of doses of Ridley, Ware, Ford and mix in Murphy, Shep, and some short passes to D-Lo. No need to take many chuck it up chances really.

That's one of the things that worries me. How many of those ridiculous guys from that last class are playing major snaps on the DL right now?
