Let's talk a bit about Les Miles' 24-23 4th quarter trailing record at LSU

It is by far the only winning record among all teams since 2005. The rest of the teams are not even in the 40% win percent in the stat that ESPN put up. So no team has a higher chance to win coming back from behind in the 4th qtr than LSU...which speaks a lot about Miles' and his team's resilience.

Miles over-all record at LSU is:
Total games: 128
Wins: 102
Losses: 26

LSU was trailing in the 4th quarter on 47 (24+23) out of 128 games during Miles' tenure, i.e. 37% of the games. I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing.

Just wondering, does anybody know what this stat looks like for other top SEC teams during this tenure - Bama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia etc.? How often do they fall behind in the 4th quarter and how many times do they win from there?

Seems like trailing 37% of your games is a really bad thing.

I was going to post a thread similar.

As long as the outcome is a W, I really don't care.

I think it has a lot to do with his style of football being more about 12 rounds verses from scores many points as he can in the first few.

Not easy to find exact stat, but Miles' total number looks pretty comparable to UGA.

UGA has 36 losses between 2005 and now, and their 2014 Media Guide lists 15 4th quarter come-from-behind wins over that span, so UGA has trailed in the fourth-quarter of roughly 51 games over that timespan (I say roughly because I don't know how overtimes affect the numbers).

Crazier stat would be to throw out all 2+ TD losses. I Imagine that gets him closer to 80% which is crazy.
