I believe if lsu hires kiffin they will back in this same situation within 4 years. Kiffin threatening to leave and people willing to pack his bags.

I don’t want a guy who is just inevitably going to leave. It’s what he does.

I wanted him 4 years ago and I want him now…

Hard no.
Kiffin is not a man of character, and is all ego. He has proven it time and time again over his entire coaching career. The fact that he is even entertaining leaving a team ranked 6th in the CFP with a real shot at a first round bye in the playoff, should tell you all you need to know about the guy. Why are you coaching, again? Also, name one place he has coached that he left with a good reputation with that team. One place where they miss him. Just one. Shoot, Saban even ran him off from Bama one week before a national championship game. That should scream volumes.
And - if LSU does not think that he will be pulling this same crap in a couple of years, flirting with the NFL or Texas or Bama or whomever, then it deserves to lose a bunch of money.
Fool's gold. LSU can do better.

This is closer than I would of thought

No for me. If he comes...I'll be ok but the baggage he brings is not worth it IMO.

I think Kiffin is the best option out there, with the highest potential.
I also think he's the one who would do the most for turning around the apathy that's grown around the program (and I think that apathy started in Miles' tenure).
He could also crash and burn spectacularly, but that's nothing new for us at this point anyway

That being said, yes he turned a crap Ole Miss program around but the expectations in Baton Rouge are playoffs or bust. Can he consistently do that?
He's making the playoffs this year. Should have made it last year. Would have made it in 2023.
AT OLE frickING MISS
so yes. He can consistently do that here

No. I’ll get behind him in a hurry if he’s hired, but I don’t like the idea of buying another coach from a nearby rival
I absolutely agree. It feels kind of cheap to me by poaching our rival's coach.

At least he'll vote you #1 as he did the Trojans when he was HC of USC and the team went 7-6 that year. But hey, raise the banner!

I am a yes to Kiffin, and also a yes to bringing back O. Would also love to see Baker remain at DC. I think most anyone we pick will keep Frank around. Now while I say yes, still think he is a longshot. Would not be unhappy with Drinkowitz or maybe Sumrall, as one of these guys is likely going to be big one day...

I don’t want him, but there’s not a lot of other better choices.

I am personally not a fan of Kiffin, but of course I hope the best for LSU.
