Time to disagree on several points including one you just made:
1) Sankey's problem is NOT that he was born in New York...it is irrelevant. His problem is he wants the power in the SEC and thus all of football that the NCAA used to try to have
2) Tired of the terms leftwing and conservative in this discussion. Once again, totally irrelevant terms for this situation. Tennessee and Ole Miss were leading the charge against LSU because in their minds, Kiffin did them wrong (17 years ago and this past season respectively). And some teams are fearful that LSU might become 2.0 Alabama under Saban...Texas and Georgia fit into that category.
3) The NCAA clearly made a mistake on the 5 for 5 policy...I agree with the policy except 2022 class should have been grandfathered in. They did not give those potential draftees all the information they should have had to have made the best decision as far as the draft goes. The NCAA, the SEC, the Big 10 do NOT want to admit that HIDEOUS mistake. So they are trying to keep that from ever being discussed with court filings. Notice the POLICY causing the entire mess is NEVER mentioned. They keep using the word "professional" and don't even mention WHY those players tried to become pros...the stupid timing of the 5 for 5 policy.
4) if people want to give Kennedy credit or Landry credit, that is your opinion. I guarantee the deciding factor in all of this was ESPN...you could tell it by the on air hosts flaming the SEC and their utter public silence by no official ESPN releases that they were in Sankey's ear with threats about contract breach by the SEC due to LSU being disciplined or kicked out

Fair enough, but there people accusing the Republican governor of LA running things (hence the LOIC accusations). And one of those at the vanguard of expelling us from the league is a known hard-left donor.
Ostensibly, Sankey wants to run this up the pole and get a court to rule in his favor so the SEC can penalize schools as they choose and/or get Congress to pass laws.
There are two big issues I have with this: 1) there is already legal precedent so Sankey's swimming upstream as opposed to finding a viable workaround and 2) threatening to kick-us out of the conference. A 2/3's vote would require 11 skools. We've been in the SEC 94 years. Arky, USCe, A&M, Mizzou, UTX, and OU a combined 102 years. They should have minimal say in the matter. Those six schools have zero SEC loyalty. And with Bama, UTenn, UGA, and OM onboard, they just need two other idiots to do just that. Thanks Greg. Idiot.

I have 0 proof of this next statement but a hard gut feeling. Of the 6 newest members, IMO 5 would be on LSU's side. Only TX I believe would try to get rid of LSU. Also my GUESS is that either Alabama or Georgia would be on LSU's side. The obvious ones who despise LSU are Tennessee and Ole Miss...once again, they had no problem with LSU until Kiffin became head coach. Teams like Vandy, Kentucky, Auburn, and Miss State (LSU's most played foe) have no axe to grind. In fact, they benefit monetarily for LSU's much better success in football than their own. Can't speak either way about Florida.
