Fantasy may be an appropriate word in hinssight. Get off to a shitty start 2 yrs in a row Lose to the likes of Toledo but finish strong by giving up 50 at home is clearly is a sign of good coaching.

He's a great recruiter, great representative of LSU, great person with an awesome personality, great head figure for the program. Like that we run a pro style system and want to have a dominant rushing attack.
Struggles with adapting to today's game, developing QBs / judging a QBs talent when recruiting, is very stubborn and hard headed, and has a hard time letting someone else calling the offense or maybe it's trusting OCs.
Like just about every coach out there, he's got his good and bad qualities. If he would just let go of the offense and allow someone to come in and implement their own system without having his hands all over the offense, I think it would have a huge impact for the better. And not with just being more successful on the field, but with the fan base as well. Becasue everyone loves him as a person, recruiter, and ambassador to LSU. People have issues with him during games.
But we will see how it all plays out in the future. Hope it's for the better.

That's a fair assessment KG. how have u been? I don't agree with your wording in the 2nd paragraph but it's a fair criticism none the less. Les just needs to find a QB somewhere somehow and then let's see if paragraph 2 holds up. 2013 gives me pause. maybe it's just simply without a decent QB you're screwed either way against these defenses.
He's clearly not a perfect coach but when u add it all up he's pretty dam strong. LSU will be hard pressed to find all those qualities Youve listed in the next coach. Not saying it couldn't happen but that's a lot to ask. I'm with you and hoping for the best starting next year.

Been doing alright man... How about you?
And yes there's a lot to like about Les. A lot. Just wish he wasn't so damn hardheaded and stubborn and willing to let someone else run the offense

If he can't get to Atlanta then he is a second tier or average coach.

Blah, Blah, Blah, same old shite........ Can we please move on while I watch the College Football Playoff Ranking where we used to be before the USUAL COLLAPSE..... Why can't people understand this shite......

Where did I say that we haven't been declining recently? Nowhere. I was fine with parting ways with Les this year.
Just went through and listed the positives and negatives of Les...

Just keep in mind that urban Meyer QUiT when he realized he had to deal with both Saban and Miles annually. Saban will be tough to beat even when Les has the best QB. urban lost with Tebow. Meyer's Florida program was clearly on the decline when he conveniently caught that unfortunate disease that mysteriously went away the day Easy arse Ohio state called. Go figure. Life is so fair.

I wish you could be up voted a million times I get nothing from this post other than a good coach can be mediocre.

Why did bill Belichick go 10 years with Tom Brady at QB without a super bowl title? He's clearly the best and how easy is the NFL when u can just manage the salary cap and draft defensive players in the first round every year? Add in almost guaranteed home field advantage each yr in the mightyAFC east. And even then run out a 31 st ranked defense one year?
LSU doesn't sit on a burial ground or something that guarantees it a playoff spot each year. Sooner or later u guys are going to realize LSU isn't much different than 20 other schools and will only be playoff bound on the regular when they have an a time great QB or coach. Roll the dice with the bielemas of the world and prove us wrong.

quote:just out of curiosity, what part of what I posted do you consider an "EXCUSSESS" (I assume you mean excuse?)?
Lombardi said EXCUSSESS is a losers ALIBI. No one has more EXCUSSESS than Les Miles and the Mile's lovers
What I listed are indisputable facts (well, I say it's not disputable, but a moron can choose to dispute anything he chooses to. Doesn't mean it didn't happen).

quote:Bob Stoops was a has-been a couple years ago. His Oklahoma team was the one that blew it in colossal form against USC, lost to Fla, and was the team to lose a BCS game to Boise. They were ready to burn him in effigy.
I'll tell you that I think Bob Stoops, Brett Bielema, and Gus Malzahn are better coaches than Les Miles. Why? Because their teams are constantly improving. Auburn and Arkansas looked atrocious at the beginning of the year and starting around the midway point of the season they began improving week to week
Auburn started out 2014 in the top 5 under Malzahn, roasting LSU along the way. By the end of the season they had 5 losses, just like us, but this despite returning the core of a national championship contender from the year before. Improvement this year? How, by winning a couple games in conference? They are generally considered the biggest disappointment in the conference.
Bielema at Arky started from below scratch, and have progressed to respectable overall. Despite his 2 game streak vs us (and Ole Miss), they opened as a ranked team and floundered terribly until midseason.

I think that's really reaching. Nothing at all factual about this.

So, if he has the most players in the NFL; doesn't that mean he's been getting beat with lesser talent?
