No elite coach with options would touch LSU. It's a freaking pressure cooker. I know the hubris is overflowing right now and we all think that the cream of the crop are lined up to put on that LSU visor, but that's silly.

Why would someone with multiple coaching options sign up for playing against Saban for the rest of his career? You know those elite coaches you guys like?? Guess what? They have these things called egos. You think they want to have their reputations potentially destroyed by having to face Saban repeatedly and possibly not being able to beat him? They could make the same (or more) money at a lesser school and win more games, simply because they're better than all of the other coaches, and simply BYPASS Saban in the process.

You think someone like Chip Kelly wants anything to do with LSU??? He's laughing his @#% off at what Miles has to put up with. All Kelly has to do is win 10 games a year and put up 60 points a game and he's a friggin God up there. That's the kind of job the coaching elite want. Not a pressure cooker job like LSU.

LSU would hire some up-and-coming coach awaiting his big break, just as they did with Saban, just as they did with Miles. They aren't getting any big name coach. Think along the lines of Kirby Smart, Gus Malzahn, Charlie Strong. Though promising, those guys are all question marks at best.

Miles isn't going anywhere.

The only way he were to leave, and this would be completely out of character for him, would be to chase the $$$. That's it. Let me reiterate, IF he went anywhere. Miles does not seem to be that guy. To just say, "Up your butt" and chase the dollars, like Saban. Miles isn't that kind of guy. He makes 5.5 mil a year now.

All of this is speculation and from what I've read, he's not looking. Sure, they can offer it, but he would more than likely decline it. If he's not going to be the HC at his own Alma Mater, after two different offers, he sure won't go to Arky. Like another poster said today, "It would be like shopping at Macy's then all of the sudden you're stuck with shopping at WalMart." It would be a major step down.

I blame all this crap on that sports by brooks idiot.

MedTiger:My biggest fear would be the ability of Alleva to not hire the next Gene Chizik. Him leading the search would scare me much more than Les actually leaving.

Understatement of the year.

All this crap started this afternoon with a tweet from that goof.

It's been a firestorm since.

You can go back and look through the threads, it should be on pg. 2 by now, possibly 3. Something about SBB trolls 'Murica.

It's a big pile of crap. Probably one of the biggest trolls ever.

LSU is now a "beat-down-the-door" job.

Sure, for anyone not already coaching at a premier program.

It would be a matter of Alleva and Co. making the right choice

Again, any available option would be a total gamble, with a much higher chance at being Gene Chizik rather than even being able to match Les's track record.

not LSU running out of choices.

We would run out of choices FAST. Jimbo, Meyer, Kelly, and Stoops aren't pussies, but it would be a lateral move at best. They already have fertile recruiting grounds of their own, the same top-dollar facilities, and much easier paths to the title game than any SEC West coach.

The simple truth is that there just aren't that many guaranteed NC caliber coaches who would leave their current spot to take years off their life at LSU. Competition aside, do you have any idea how many programs would write a blank check to a coach who would have them in the hunt every year if they just grew on trees?

I don't have a problem with Les staying, he just needs to make a great hire to take over and correct our offensive woes and stay out of the play calling. If he does stay, i am totally against giving him any more money or extensions.
