Teams take on the persona of there coach.

Most unrealistic expectations come from a lack of perspective. Three things most people forget:
1 - These are still college kids. Getting them prepared, keeping them motivated and focused, and managing off the field distractions are major challenges for any college head coach. Miles does a pretty good job of this. Every team has lapses, that's why luck usually plays such a big role in BCS championships runs.
2 - College players make mistakes, regardless of focus. Not only freshmen, either. Watch more games of other teams and you will see mistakes in every game. I think it was Danielson who said that one of the reasons he likes college football is that the players are all good enough to make spectacular plays, but also bad enough to make mistakes. This is what keeps every game interesting.
3 - These are still student-athletes. Wether the players take being a student seriously or not, the team is limited in practice time throughout the year, including the season between games. Players do have distractions, and most of them still have teenaged brains.
Competing at a high level in college consistantly is an extraordinary accomplishment.

No its not hard to have college kids motivated and fired up for big games bc it happens all the time in college sports. Thats partially how you define a good coach, these kids know they are playing on the big stage and came to there respective schools bc of that sport. They know they will play in big games thats what they are there for. I can understand if there is nothing else to play for in your season and your team is a little down that day but there is no reason to have just an absolute lack of focus in some of your biggest games when there is everything on the line in your season. Its just inexcusable! It has happend on multiple occasions with Milesw coached teams. He looks freaking clueless about what is going on in games sometimes on national tv that its really embarassing to say the least. Thats all I got thank you for your time!

2. When Les wins the Outback Bowl and then goes 13-0 next season, he will break into the elite List of college football coaches with a .750 winning percentage. Not even Nick Saban has a 0.75 career win percentage as head coach.

How about you take yourself out of this thread. Pretty much everybody plays "Furmans and Kent Sts."

Haha
Nothing more mature than calling someone a douche on a message board cause they don't agree with you.
I don't care what other coaches do. I didn't know it was about them. My point is if you want an accurate idea of how good the team is take the rent a wins out. This year 6-3. In nfl terms a wild card team.
I don't know how long y'all have been watching football or how young you are but if you can't tell that teams are their coaches-ok whatever
Can't wait for next season. I see a awesome 8-4

Theres a big difference between reality and optimism like most the LSU fans have!

Just out of curiosity, in your opinion, when was the last time LSU had a losing record?

Why don't you do that for every single team then?

1. How the frick do you get that 6-3 would be an NFL wild card team? They play 16 games, not nine. 2. I guess it is fairly irrelevant what kind of NFL playoff team they would be since we are talking about a college football team.
Comparison is beyond fricking retarded.

No one really gives a shite what you think is going to happen next season. You have no clue what the hell you are talking about anyway. I'm going to go out on a limb and say that you probably predicted this team to lose 4-5 games.

The reason you are so unwilling is either a) you are not intelligent or b) you are afraid that your research will yield an unexpected result (ie, Les is better than you think he is).
So which is it? Are you stupid or wrong? You're at least one of those. Your pick.

Whats funny about this statement is they very well could have lost to arkansas and been a 4 or 5 loss team jackass!

Typical sidewalk negatiger. Les Miles has more national championships at LSU than you have credit hours. Don't bash people who represent my school.

Yeah. Say what you want about the Ole Miss game, but you can't sit there and use "almost losing" to Arkansas as a rallying cry.

I bet you were hoping LSU would lose so you could come on here and tell everyone you predicted it.

I seriously don't get it. Guys like this act like they have some huge case against how horrible Miles and LSU are because they almost lost a game. I guess it just goes back to most of our tard fans think we should win every game by 40 just because we are LSU and that other teams just roll over and take it because we are LSU.
