Coach Miles and Coach Spurrier started at a new SEC school in 2005. Miles has won 11 more SEC games than Steve during that span.

Furthermore, Miles has a 72.2 % winning percent in SEC competition. Mark Richt of Georgia has a 69.2 % winning percentage in SEC play.

Miles is a very good coach amongst the top coaching dogs in the mighty SEC.

Only Nick Saban is the outlier.

What is the fact here? We could easily be 11-1 or 8-4, but the fact is we are 9-3.

Everyone thinks the grass is always greener on the other side. Many LSU fans don't realize what a good run we have had with Miles and probably won't until he is long gone.

While I've been critical of Coach Mile's end game management, I whole heartedly agree. The problem is that unless you get a Saban or Meyer-type coach as a replacement, you NEVER know what you are going to get. It's not even remotely close to easy what Les Miles has done keeping us at THIS level...in the SEC. I know I don't want to have to roll the dice! I was at LSU during the Archer/Hallman years...I DON'T want to ever go back to that!

I find it fascinating how people will go out of their way to be miserable and dislike something they supposedly like. The reality of the situation doesn't even factor in.

No we couldn't be bc we werent remotely close to scoring on the last drive at UGA. You are completely missing why I made that comment. When somebody says you probably thought we would be a 4-5 loss team this yr like it is the complete opposite of what actually happend it sounds very idiotic. We were/are very close to accomplishing that!

Also, very close to having 1 loss. We can play this game all day.

Arkansas wasn't remotely close to scoring on their last-ditch drive. See how this works?

please keep the comment coming

1. Losing is actually the opposite of winning

2. I like how think we almost "accomplished" losing. You are secretly hoping for losses probably.

3. Georgia wasn't a close loss?? I'm not quite sure what to say. Good stuff though.

Why are you laughing? We are a muffed punt and any one of three interceptions away from having only lost to Bama.

If this kind of thinking is stupid to you, you should probably reevaluate your whole we were this close to being a 4 or 5 loss team.

But yet LSU has less All-SEC players on the top 22, less AA players, and less HT contenders than other top SEC programs

Yeah, because these are all the greatest measures of talent and everything.

While we can argue the merit of such honors, they are certainly A measurement of the talent in a program as assigned by outside the program viewers.

I only bring the point up because some posters express the idea that LSU is more talented then any program in college football. We have lots of talent, but we are not more talented than any other SEC team.

There's no denying Miles' efficacy as a head coach. It doesn't hurt that he's had one of the most brilliant defensive minds in college football at his side for years. It also doesn't hurt that he now has a NFL caliber OC.

The thing that bugs me with Les is not that he's goofy, it's that he fails to instill any discipline in his teams. Playing loose works. Being a players' coach clearly works. But lacking discipline has cost us dearly in close games. That's really the only thing I can complain about.

Every other weakness he's had he's addressed: Can't coach up a QB or call plays on offense? Hire Krags. Krags gets sick? Hire Cam. Need a new DC? Hire Chavis. He is very good about addressing things in the off season, and, while loyal, he is not always loyal to a fault. Many people will look at the JJ and JL situation and call bullshite. They may even say Mett should have been playing. But let's face it, Mett wasn't really ready for primetime til this year and Miles' decision to play JJ or JL is at least justifiable.

In all, Miles is one of the greatest living coaches. He has had sustained success and, indeed, excellence, at a program that just a little over a decade ago wasn't really much to sniff at, all while playing the cream of the crop and coaching against the man who is widely considered the best living coach and, perhaps, the greatest of all time.

It really appears to be only a matter of time before we put together a team like the Alabama team of 2011 or the USC team of 2004 where we can dominate a team on both sides of the football with relative ease.

Like I said, you're out of material. You're a sidewalk negatiger doing what sidewalk negatigers do best: providing nothing at all valuable to the conversation. Time for you to shush.

As I said earlier, Generation Y is full of narcissists who are uncomfortable every time they are reminded that the world doesn't revolve around them. When we praise anything at all that isn't them, they have to chime in and do all they can to spoil the fun for us as punishment for daring revolve our lives around something that isn't them.
