As long as Les has the respect of his players, then no one elses matters

This thread is the reason these analyst continue to make ignorant and pointless comments. They know it will stir the pot.

why would you take Saban's defense over Miles' Towelie? UGA hammered us at Athens, UF hung close to half a hundred on us, UT at Knoxville and UT in Cotton Bowl had a field day throwing the ball, Iowa burns secondary for last second TD, Ark burns secondary for last second TD

AND, go back and look at the films of Saban's NC year and ask yourself what would have happened if several teams (UGA and OU come to mind) would have completed the delayed pass to the back working straight down the field with no LB within 20 yds

That's just from a quick memory

Pellini's defenses were technically sounder and better suited to the personnel, in my opinion

Mallory/Peveto have done nothing to suggest they've screwed things up...unless, of course, you tend to have selective memory about how "dominant" LSU's D was under Saban

one more thing. . .we were playing "base" offenses in 03 . . .much easier to disguise and execute blitzes . . . no one was spreading it out like today . . . if you go back and watch LSU,AL game last year take a note of who hurt who the most with blitzes . . .and finally, when you watch tham game last year don't forget to note that 1 on 1 coverage on Byrd when LSU was down 10 in the 4th quarter . . .that was sure enough a defensive gem

defense ain't rocket science and Saban ain't Robert Goddard . . .he works very hard to prepare a team fundamentally to play but so have Miles' defensive staffs...

I'll take our coaching staff. . .they're loyal, dedicated, and players don't bail out to the pros at first opportunity unlike the trend that was developing a few years ago. . .must be a reason why the team awarded the game ball to Miles after the Al game last year. . .might be because they appreciate the crap he's taken even after winning a NC and accomplishing more in a shorter time than any other LSU coach in history
