I honestly don"t think Les Miles would ever WANT to be an NFL head coach.

He loves the college game, working with and mentoring students, and I think he has a WANT to stay at this level and build a dynasty at LSU.

he coached Dallas Cowboys TE's. so yes, by definition.

obviously his style at LSU is taking into account the youth of his players and the fact that he is being quoted 100% of the time, so its like being POTUS. He has to be wary of his quotes being used against him in recruiting, so he is constantly addressing recruits' parents and recruits even when he is just answering a direct question.

Spurrier, Saban,

completely different situations. steve didn't work because he was a great OC and he out talented a lot of people. his philosophy doesn't meche with the nfl.

les, like nick, has adapted a philosophy of a strong running game, great defense and good special teams play. that works in the nfl.

nick's downfall is the same as it is in college. he's an arse. and if you drop a couple games in a year, the team seems to shut down on him, becuase no one likes to play for him. as long as he's going 12 and 0, all players love him. when he doesn't, he has a hard time winning 10 games, because players dont like to put up with that anymoer.

remember, nick did well his first year. he turned them around. it was the second year, when they started to play below par that the team quit and he quit, and it was downhill from there.

Rich, spoiled, entitled NFL brat players would outsmart the pants off of Les Miles. He's too honest and trustworthy to be an NFL coach.

Yeah I feel like he has the personality and temperament to fit in as a professional coach. I think he might even have some success there. I doubt he ever tries it though.

Miles' coaching style would be way more effective in the NFL, than was Saban's or Spurrier's. Why? B/C the latter two coached through intimidation and power. That style does not fly in the professional ranks in this day and age. Miles' stlye of loyalty and teaching would likely be more productive. People in the know have nothing but praise for Miles' practices as some of the most organized and productive. These attributes would translate well to the NFL ranks. Now his WANT to be NFL coach? No clue.

Sure.. He could be one, but did you mean to ask if he would be a successful NFL coach? That's debatable.

I hope he stays right where he is.
I'm sure he could be as good a pro coach as Nick Saban and Bobby Petrino however.

I do as well and like the image he portrays to the rest of the CFB world. He does some strange things and makes some crazy comments from time to time but he is a winner.

What you see is what you get. The players love the guy, he has strong family values and he will do the right thing more times than not. He doesn't speak the queen's English, but that's who he is and he represents a lot of what is good in CFB. Yes he has flaws, but who the hell doesn't?

Being a good NFL coach means being a savvy business man. That is exactly what Les Miles is but the man like help cranking out scholar athletes more then helping selfish pricks so no he won't go to the NFL.

Coach Miles is at home at LSU. The college football version of the Rant would end if Miles left. He brings too much fodder to the discussions here. What are we going to discuss when JJ and JL are gone from LSU ? In 2020, every Tiger fan will pay $60 dollars for a ticket and $95 dollars a Saturday to park on Campus. You will have your own parking space and a camera will be set up to monitor your "activities".

If you get pulled over for a DWI or are a convicted felon, your season tickets will be revolked and you will be considered Persona Non Grata...unless you donate more money to {TAF) the University to be absolved from your "sins".

Anyone found criticizing the AD will be subject to losing parking priviledges and will reassigned to a "loser" parking area located some 4 miles from Tiger Stadium. You will have to wear a bracelet to enter the stadium and you will have no chance to ride any bus shuttles for up to 2 completed football seasons.

Now have a great Day !!
