2008, 2009.. both are very close to 2005-2007 talent wise.
Outside od QB play in both seasons and the horrid defensive coaching tag-team of '08 I'd agree that the overall talent was much the same. Unfortunately coaching talent also plays into the mix. See Malleveto.

The alabama sports media started with the "miles is a moron" crap when he was winning in 2005-2007 to try and get Saban back into our recruiting grounds and we have played right into their hands with the constant program bashing that is going on.
No, that label followed him from Ok. State. Winning the NC in '07 caused people to question it.

Simply the canned response of the morons don't know the difference and have a litany of excuses for the underachievement that has been LSU football the past two seasons.

No, that was started by the Alabama media/fans to try and get us to undermine our own program and it is beginning to work.
This is absolutely one of the top five most idiotic statements I have every read on this site.
So, let me get this straight...Miles' buffoon like persona is not due to anything the man has said or done, it is due to a media conspiracy from Alabama.
Okay, fine...everything is clear now.

He was...everyone just referenced it as "lesticles" or "fear the hat" (even though he wears it like a dunce cap).
Based on the players he inherited and the coaching staff that was in place, my mother could have won during those years and she picks her favorite quarterbacks based on how good looking they are.

So true! They make these drive by attacks but can't be specific. They don't understand chemistry, experience or the human equation. These same experts were polishing JJ's knob this time last year. Now they love Jimbo Fisher, but check the archives,90% of them blamed Fisher for everything. Beating Oklahoma twice with much less talent is much more impressive than anything Saban did at MSU. Nick beat LSU and Texas without their starting QBs.
You notice I never get an answer when I ask if Bama would have won SEC with JJ at QB.
Coaching takes place on the practice field not on X-Box.
Takes a lot of guts to call a coach stupid on a message board.

More X-Box ignorance! Why did the great Pete Carroll lose with the best talent in the country?

From what I have seen on here, you will lose if you assume all others here only know football through "X box experience."

I have NEVER called him stupid Nor could I do his job. I just don't like the direction the team is going. And for $4 mil a year I should get better results.

You know, it's funny that all you suck-holes want to bash the man for his coaching abilities....yet none of you are willing to step up and put your resume in for consideration.
I don't want to hear the same tired arse, lame excuses and stats that everyone like to provide in favor of this or in favor of that.....
Bottom line....you think you can do better? Step up. If not....STFU and GTFO.
