Mine either. He had 6 tackles, I saw him fighting past and through blockers, and erasing his receiver. I'm sure he messed up on one or two plays, but he instantly shored up the deep threat problem Collins presented.

I was impressed with his aggressiveness in the run game, which the rest of the secondary and even the linebackers have sorely lacked. He was a breath of fresh air there. He "gets it" when it comes to defending the run.

He did have a huge bust in coverage on the play right before they scored on Mills. Looked like he bit on something, which probably has a lot to do with his aggressiveness and youth. He needs to learn however that the Aaron Murray's and AJ McCarron's and JFF's will not miss that bust.

I'm just sitting back and enjoying this season. Obviously these guys are the real deal if they are jockeying for a starting position.

This situation will only benefit LSU getting deeper in the season. Auburn will tell us everything. Worry about it then.

How much of a stud is Robinson? He wasn't even elgilble until about 10 practices ago, and 2 of those practices were walk thru's. He just showed up to the games and the Chief has said, "Put that kid in the game."

Our tackling and angles in the secondary have been poor, but I am vastly more concerned about our defense's inability to set the edge. Both TCU and UAB were able to gain the corner with far too much consistency. I don't know if the DE's, LB's, DB's/safeties are to blame, but it's alarming. Gurley will gash us if it continues.
u think the Chief saw this, also?

We looked great on offense, on defense NO! Both Jalens looked awful. The whole defense went to sleep in the second quarter. It was easy to see what we lost last year to the draft. LSU had better get it together before we hit the tough part of the schedule, or it will be a long season.

I'm certain he did. But if our players don't have the requisite speed, strength, and skill, I don't know what he can do to alleviate the situation. For example, if our LBs are simply too slow, or if our DE's don't have the leverage to set the edge, even astute tactical adjustments may not be enough.

I'm not ready to conclude that is the case, yet, by the way. We still have time to improve.

I'll be honest. We used to blitz like crazy. Why? We had shutdown corners.

Chief may be attacking the root of the problem

this. the crux of the matter. also, an honest answer. let the coaches determine who's damn fault it is but if the problem isn't fixed our offense is going to have to score 50 points a game or more.

After watching the LSU/Arkansas game replay on tv yesterday it made it very apparent LSU this year is not near as fast nor big as that defense was!

You'd have to be ignorant and short-sighted to think such a young defense would not take time to mesh and figure out who's the best.

I think this is just Les lighting a fire under Mills' arse. Collins on the other hand needs to step up to hold off the newcomers.

The LB play could also be affecting the corners. When the LB corps is set and playing like they should we should see the corners improve as a result

i don't think that calling true freshmen who get into the game in the second half, after it's well out-of-hand, adds anything to any conversation.

It has been said that Patrick Peterson could have played a passable game at corner (for an NFL team) his first day of practice. When we recruited White I thought the same thing. Robinson potentially being even better is really, really good news - although he is a little undersized.

WTF does LB play have to do with Mills getting toasted like a Subway meatball marinara?

White played almost three complete quarters.

I would usually dismiss Robinson and his 4th quarter garbage time, but the kids only been on campus 2 weeks. That's crazy.

How much did he weigh in at when he got on campus? He definitely isn't undersized in the height area

He's listed as 6'1, 163 - even assuming he's gained 5 pounds since weigh in (and it's tough, tough, to gain weight during the season - because of the conditioning and full speed practices)... light in the loafers is the expression that comes to mind.

Confidence that your LBs will stop the run aids in coverage. Mills getting burned was inexcusable though

Who knows? Les is a troll. They told us Hawkins was 305 max. More like 330 minimum. Same for Leslie. They said 195, SHEEEEE more like 170.

Form your own conclusions. Check out the pic on page one. That's Patrick Peterson next to him, all 220 pounds of him. Robinson at most looks 35 pounds lighter.

He looks mid-high 170s to me. Plenty big enough.
