He doesn't owe me crap but he should take a pay cut. Seeing how he would have gotten a raise if he won he should take a cut not because he lost but because he didn't even come close to doing his job on Monday.

e is a state employee (the highest paid one)
May be wrong, but there is a state law in LA that requires that the Governor have the highest state paid salary. Miles' total compensation is quite large, but most of that is paid by sponsers and required media appearances.
To say that Miles doesn't owe me specifically anything is correct, he doesn't. He does however owe his superiors at LSU an explanation. If you fail that badly at anything, and especially that publically you had better expect questions from above. Aditionally, as I stated above, a large part of his salary is based on media appearances. He is a public figure for our university. His performance and the performance of his football team is how many view LSU. And just about everyone who watch that game is thinking -
WHAT THE frick
And to date, the only explanation we have gotten is that they thought the game plan would work until it didn't. Which is fine, but why were no adjustments made at all? Why did we forget how to run the option? That is what upsets people. Not that we lost, but that it looked like we barely tried and that frankly our team is capable of much better play than that. Every coach at every level has to handle questions when his team doesn't perform - this includes Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, Bill Billicheck, Sean Payton, Phil Jackson, ...... - why should Mile's be any different than the people who have been successfull and are his peers?

Wrong... He owes nothing. He gave you the opportunity to enjoy one of the best seasons in LSU history.
We got beat by a team that by all accounts is a very good team on a night when they played extremely well and our offense played poorly.
The coach owes you nothing.,

Les does not owe any of us any explanation for any of his decisions...why?
An explanation is one thing,DEMANDING an apology is another. I would like to hear why no in-game adjustments were made. Other than that Miles doesn't have to say shite. IMO.

Nope, you're wrong - there is a portion that comes from state funding. The majority does come from TAF or LSU Athletic Department but there is a significant amount from state funding. He is classified as a state employee...

You're dead wrong. He owes the fans more than the BS statements following the game. At $3+ million annually, swallow your pride and be honest. Admit that you were terrible with the BCS game preparation and in-game decisions. You CHOKED!

There are hundreds of state employees with higher salaries than the Governor

On the contrary, I think that in such a bizarre instance as this, we the taxpayers, who subsidize this program have a right to more than canned answers.
It's as if LSU was never in the game, and that no adjustments in personnel and tactics were made.
Bama was dominant Monday night, but we shouldn't have been so unprepared. I know that people could accept the loss a little easier if LSU's offense had tried somethding different, but they did'nt and that's what is so puzzling.
Les Miles seems to be a fine man, and UA can keep Saban because I feel that he is unethical, but I do believe that we need more from Miles than what what we've been getting.

Again smartass its not because he lost it how and why. If a doctor performs major surgery and does well 13 times does that give him a pass when he kills the 14th? Said doctor didn't kill the patient and tried his best, he didn't prepare for surgery and decided not to try to stop the hemorrhaging mid surgery. If a doctor or any other professional does this they go to fricking jail. So yes I think les should take a pay cut

And who exactly bankrolls the TAF?
I seem to recall a pretty pricey TAF fee on season tickets

You are correct. So does he owe TAF members and ticket holders, and all the rest who voluntarily donate to LSU athletics to pay his salary an explanation? Or should they just shut the frick up about his debacle because other people want their tickets anyway?

And WHAT will this do for you???? Will it really make you feel better???? Will it somehow change the outcome of the game??? You fans are WAY TOO SPOILED. LSU winning the 2003 NC has changed this fanbase greatly, and in the WRONG WAY.FACT.

I don't think it should be forced but offered by him. Nothing from Monday night lead me or anyone else to believe that he fulfilled his contractual duties

You do realize that the LSU football programs is one of the top revenue generating programs in the nation, and the best in the SEC? Taxes don't fund football at LSU.
His salary also has nothing to do with what questions he should or should not answer. He is a representative of LSU. He could be donating his time to LSU and should still be expected to have the same questions asked of him that are asked of every other coach to field a team.
