Wish I could have given you more up votes.

I agree. If our QB could just hit open receivers, we would be at least 10-1 and looking at a playoff bid. As stated in the OP, our QB development has been woeful more often than not, but that's a different issue than offensive philosophy.

2013 with Zach Mettenburger and cam Cameron set the all-time SEC record for offense. A 1000 yard rusher, 2 1000 yard receivers and a 3000 yard quarterback. offense is not the problem it's developing the quarterback.

Then hire a new QB coach. The play calling is less than imaginative, to be kind.
Without Fournette, with this QB, LSU is 6-5, maybe.
It's great to have an All-American RB. It's better to have an All-American QB.

Miles wants to run a pro style offense but recruits dual purpose QB's. square peg in round hole. Either get a pro style QB or adjust your offense for the talent you have. A teams success, to a large degree, is judged by the qb play. Good QB, coach is a genius. Poor QB play and coach is an idiot and should be fired. We can't even find a game manager type qb much less a cam newton or a Jameis Winston. LSU has all the pieces and always has with the one exception, a decent qb. When we have had decent game manager type qb's like Matt Mauck and Matt Flynn and even Mett, we win.

It's really not. Unless you think fine us way too much I formation, 2 reciever routes with 50/50 passes and 0 utilization of tight ends. The offense is about as basic and out dated as it can get.
This isn't true. LSU has used shotgun formation with 3 wrs a lot. You had 3 tes get injured this year. That would be like LSU being down to only brossette at rb. Or only diarse and chark at wr.

Other than seemingly hitting a wall late in the season, I think Harris developed pretty well during his FIRST season as a starter.
The only two Power 5 teams that started fewer underclassmen this season that were better than LSU on offense were TCU (7, but including a senior QB and RB) and Tennessee. FSU, LSU, and Clemson had six underclassmen starters on offense.
88 percent of offensive yardage from underclassmen.

It amazes me the amount of people that disagree with this post and thought process.
Are you people high?
It's 100% fact.
Qbs at LSU for the most since miles has been here are below avg and prob couldn't start anywhere outside vandy.
You think chad kelly or dak Prescott or nick Marshall or will Grier or any of the rest of them current or former gets some super duper coach up at college?
frick no.
They are simply better football players.
Just DWI and hope we recruit better and this position.
