even though he's statistically regressing?

Stafford at least isn't scared to take a hit like Lee is

5 picks in first 5
9 picks in the last 4. ironically his worst statistical game was against tulane.
To say he is playing better is delusional.

The failed 2 yard run by lee was by far his worst play of the game. That is saying alot.

Add in the pick 6's and Lee's stats don't measure up to Stafford's.
Lee has been responsible for the other team scoring 52 points this season, 49 on 7 TD's, and one FG. How that affects your team psychologically and puts your defense in a hole is just unreal. It also changes the playcalling and the strategy.
Take those 52 points away and you have least 2 more wins. The Florida game was lost by the Defense.

Dude you keep saying Stafford is the best QB in the SEC. Did you forget about Tim Tebow or are you ignorant?

From the prototypical NFL standard for QB stafford is the best prospect. As far as best college qb Tebow is the best. He runs a gimmicky offenst that has speed at all the skill positions. If he was in a pro style offense in which he may well be in the NFL he will go the way of V. Young, Alex Smith, Rex Grossman, Eric Crouch, Tim Chang, Ty and his brother detmer. I don't know of any qb coming out of a system such as the one that meyer, rodriguez, brown or leach run has produced any qbs that have stuck in the nfl.

Tim Tebow can't pass...he's a system QB. Not a pure QB. The question then becomes: are you ignorant.

Tebow would make a better NFL LB or FB than QB.

Quit obsessing about the picks. If you really think Lee is worse now than he was in the first 3 games of the season, then you just don't understand football.

You think a true-freshman is ready to play big time SEC football over a redshirt-freshman when you haven't seen him play in an SEC game.
but i've seen the RS freshman and he's spotting the opposing team at least 7 points per game... i would just like to see what JJ can do...
at this point im ready to give the unknown a try...

Even though Lee did manage to nearly throw a pick six against App St. Threw a ball between the goal posts against N.texas on 4th down, and his first pick six against Auburn. I will take that out of the equation. I pose this question Did lee show better pose and progression against App St. or Tulane?
Posted on 11/11/08 at 4:35 pm to Doc Fenton
8/30 Appalachian State W 41-13 6 10 116 60.0 39 2 1 203.44 0 0 0.0 0 0
11/1 Tulane W 35-10 8 20 99 40.0 29 1 1 88.08 2 -33 -16.5 0 0
so you would take tulane lee over App Lee.

Also, it's pathetic how people seem to be forgetting that Lee wasn't even good enough to start in the first 3 games, and yet somehow he's "regressed" since then. bullshite.
In his first 3 games, he was only called upon to throw for 127 ypg against weaker teams.
In his last 6 games, he's had to play against he best defenses in the country, and for some strange reason, has been called upon to throw fro 204 ypg.
Auburn, MSU, Florida, SCAR, Georgia, & Bama, are 6 of the top 7 defenses in the SEC, which plays far and away the best defense in the nation. Which part of this are you people not understanding?
He had a bad statistical game in a blowout against a traditional rival Tulane (just like Flynn did last year), and suddenly that's supposed to tell the whole story? Give me a fricking break.

So how has Lee progressed?

The question then becomes and probably is splitting hairs...do you think App State defense is better than Tulane defense? I personally think Tulane is better.
I will never convince you that Lee is going to be a good SEC QB. This is why I think that about 90% of football fans have no idea what is going on and 99.9% of LSU fans have no clue.
I'm a former college athlete and avid supporter of LSU Athletics and travel near and far to attend sporting events. I will agree that we have some of the best fans in the country, but clueless when it comes to actual knowledge about the games we watch.
Lee is terrible this year. I agree. We do not have an option. JJ's redshirt has been burned and he deserves a shot, but to say that Lee isn't good and will never be is an ignorant statement.

If you go from a QB who comes off the bench for mop-up duty, only to miss every receiver against an inferior opponent by about 10 yards, and then turn into a guy capable of putting up yards and points consistently--as a starter--against the very best defenses in all of CFB, sorry, but I call that progressing.
He generally made great decisions and audibles against Bama. He thinks like a senior, and just has the mechanics of a kid that's still in high school. Let him work it out. He's going to be good.
