There are more 5A schools in the Houston area than in the entire state of Louisiana. All I know is that West Monroe has held it's own against Texas 5A teams through the years...Midland Lee, Longview, and Tyler.

Didn't West Monroe dominate a Cedrick Benson-led Midland teams that won like 3 5A state championships in a row?

Texas and Louisiana have some major ties, not just because we are border states on the Gulf of Mexico, not just that we each have a major US port, but more importantly, we are both the two major oil states in the US (along with California and Alaska). Remember how much the Bush family loves Louisiana, how fond both President GHW Bush and his son President GW Bush are of us?

Texas and Louisiana need to have an annual football game that pits our state champion high school football team vs their state champion high school football team so we can kick the crap out of them each and every year. Last year, our team would have been the Jordan Jefferson-led 5A Louisiana State Champions.

How great is that for LSU to have a highly-ranked national QB recruit that led his team to a 5A Louisiana State Championship?

To you idiots that don't understand the importance of high school football:

Where in the hell do you think we get our recruits from?

Junior High in Tokyo

I understand our recruits are out of high school, but unless our QB's are still playing those type of defenses, then who gives a frick about their HS stats.

AWESOME!!! They were good against 2-A teams from their home town. They got recruited. Now produce.

They smoked the shite out of them 38-7 when Benson was a senior.

If you took the top 5 teams in LA, and the top 5 teams in TX regardless of classification, you would see 5 pretty good games. No shot TX dominates for those saying TX football is so much better. That is simply not the case.

While LA may not have as many good teams due to size, I would put our best 5 regardless of class against any state.

Its really not a good comparison on HS stats b/c since Texas HS is supposedly better, then Jarrett Lee probably had better surrounding players also.

Also, how many rushing yards did JJ have?

I know 2 2a teams from here in LA that could play with most 4a teams in Texas pretty much year in and year out. shite they could probably play with the 5a and 6a teams in Texas on a reg. basis too. And they are both from the same district.

If you're talking about Evangel and Calvary, then you're dead wrong.
John Curtis could play with some Texas 4A teams, but not the top tier.
