I’ll go first

Friday: Hess
Saturday: Marceaux
Sunday: Hill

1. Smith (SS)
2. DiGiacomo (DH) / Broussard (2B)
3. Duplantis (RF)
4. Cabrera (LF)
5. Watson (CF)
6. Garza (C)
7. Beloso (1B)
8. Hughes (3B)
9. Broussard (2B) / DiGiacomo (DH)

Let the discussion begin!

Edit : Leave your predictions in this format so that they are easy to compare. I’m going to use my own loophole and say that the thread says by SEC play and therefore I can adjust until then. THIS WAS NOT MY PREDICTION on the 17th. This is an updated prediction and idk how long is fair for letting people update but if you want to update update away

CPM isn’t moving Hess out of that Friday night role.

Caviat : Garza ends up being at least close to as good of a defensive catcher as Mathis after full recovery from injury

If he does well, I agree. No way we have starters aplenty like this and PM let’s Hess get away with a 5 ERA

Today Hughes played well. I will be the first to admit that and that he isn’t an automatic out like I thought

Interesting. I thought Hill was the best looking pitcher this weekend to be honest. Any reason why you have Beloso at 1B and Bianco at DH? I would assume Bianco is probably the better defensive 1B

Haha, my bad. I never looked into the math behind ERA so I assumed it was a basic average where each outing counted the same regardless of inning, implying that Hess’ ERA would be 4 because he gave up 4 earned runs. Had no idea number of innings factored in

Rotation

Friday: Hess (CPM doesn’t have the balls to put him in the pen)
Sat: Marceaux
Sun: Walker
Midweek: Hill

Not sure if the order, but I think the position starters goes
C: Garza
1B: Bianco
2B: Dugas (his bat will absolutely get him in the lineup and people will question why he wasn’t starting day 1)
SS: Smith
3B: Hughes (could be Dugas depending on if Broussard can figure things out again at 2b)
Outfield: nothing will change here
DH: Beloso (another bat that will force its way into playing time)

These freshman bats are as good as we have seen in the same class in a while. The 3 listed above + Willis can all smash the ball, and Dugas is one of the best base stealers on the team. He averaged a stolen base a game in his collegiate summer league this year will hitting .350. Willis is one of the few guys who might get left out just because he doesn’t really have a position yet. It would be nice if his arm was 100% and he could move back to catcher but not sure if that’s possible this year.

If anyone is questioning the talent of the new comers, look at the stats:

Top track man speeds from preseason scrimmages
Cade Beloso 107.2 mph
Cade Beloso 106.6 mph
Brock Mathis 106.1 mph
Drew Bianco 105.9 mph
Drew Bianco 105.3 mph
Gavin Dugas 104.2 mph
Brock Mathis 103.9 mph
Gavin Dugas 103.7 mph
Zach Watson 103.7 mph
Saul Garza 103.4 mph
Drew Bianco 103.1 mph
Brock Mathis 102.8 mph

Question : What are you referring to when you say “if Broussard gets it back together”? Has Broussard been playing poorly?
