Lane’s thinking

He told everyone in the press conference when asked about this recruiting class.
“We are thinking bigger picture. The January portal window. I wish i could get on the phone right now but the portal isn’t open.”
He wants to make us a national title contender this coming season. The best way to do that is putting most of our NIL money for this year towards the portal instead of focusing on high school recruits that won’t contribute much next year anyway
Next year is when he actually gets time to start building his own high school class and building the foundation for the future

He had 3 returning starters this year and went 11-1. Safe to say the man knows what he is doing

I have high hopes for us under LK.
But...
I cannot expect LSU Football to go 10-2 in Year One of his regime. Given the 2026 schedule and 5 away SEC games, I think 9-3 would be solid improvement.

He is processing CBK poor assessment of talent. LSU needs dawgs with swag and not the soft Charmin boys that CBK was bringing in.

9-3 MIGHT get LSU into the playoffs. That's all ai want. I don't expect it for Lane in year one, but I just want to start making the damned playoffs.

GeorgeWest - I agree but the losses need to be competitive if/when they do happen. Ole Miss got beat by Georgia this year but Ole Miss scored a TD on it's FIRST FIVE POSSESSIONS! That's crazy. We got a good one but I will be pleasantly surprised if we win 11 games next year.
