WhT I will say I have learned with Jay Johnson is he goes into every game doing whatever it takes to win

I’m glad Nippolt is back in the starting lineup.
Jobert had a chance

I like the LSU Tigers in this one.

I think you might see the pitchers used more like last year tonight and just pitch 2-3 innings with 3 or 4 pitchers ( Hellmers, little, Riley, mayne Guidry Dutton
Would love to see a little sprinkle of Guidry at the end tonight.

Jay said very early after the draft that he wanted to look at Guidry as a closer. I think after Pineda and Young signed, Jay chose to rest Guidry some from pitching and make sure he had infield depth solidified. Infield looks pretty solid, without Guidry, so he could very well start looking at Guidry for a pitching role again.

The slider he’s got is a lot different from our other arms, so it’d be a nice piece to be able to rely on.

He may stay in the lineup for good. Doesn’t seem far fetched. Jobert will be odd man out most games moving forward. Maybe DH here and there and pinch hit righties.

Maybe Guidry comes in and closes, seen crazier things and he's not in the lineup? Idk

Our lineup should be very used of left-handed pitching by now

Nobody has really taken the 3rd starter spot yet. Hurd looks to have moved himself right into a spot, but Floyd and Shores still have things to prove. Little deserves a look, as much as I like him as a reliever. Good opportunity to see how he extends with a week and a half until conference to rest.
Or, it could just be Jay's way of ensuring that Little gets some work today in meaningful innings.

For real. IMO if Little does well tonight. Your starters are going to be for SEC play Skenes, Hurd, and Little. Until Floyd develops his offspeed pitchers better hes more suited for the bullpen.
