Yea, it really has nothing to do with how "low" we are right now. This is still and EXTREMELY attractive job because of the resources and the recruiting ground. But to get Walz we'd probably have to be willing to pay over $1 million.

Tennessee is a brand in WBB that sell's itself, it is in a much better situation then that of LSU. Although it comes with much more stress, as it a high demanding job their that demands results.
Here the pressure isn't too bad, we do have a lot to offer but I don't see a Waltz type coming here. We might have to go after someone at a smaller school.
Like I said, thats why I strongly suggest Banghart
And Waltz would never come here, even if we try to match with Louisville. He has a good program going over there right now. I dont see him stepping down to LSU. Even if we did open the checkbook.

Interesting that someone would think coming to LSU would be a "step down". Although I think he's got a good thing going there at Louisville, I can't see how LSU would necessarily be a step down in the long run. Currently, he's got a nicer arena and his team is having more success. But overall long term, this is easily as attractive a destination as Louisville is............if just for recruiting alone. But I gotta admit...............I've been to the Yum Center a few times. It is NICE.

Last year he signed the #2 recruit and has signed two top 20 recruits this year. He's from Kentucky and Louisville can probably match any reasonable pay bump he'd be offered. Now that Louisville is in a big conference there might not be any situations that could lure him away.

I don't mean in the sense that LSU itself is a step down. I mean that he is in a great position already. Elite teams, great recruiting area, great fan support, makes good money. I am just saying, I don't see him going from what he has now to LSU, where we have a bit of rebuilding.
