Any reports out there on his spring thus far? I find it hard to believe he won't be a starter come the fall. Just from watching them play the LB corp seems like it should be T Jones, L Barrow, and K Alexander but hey I'm not on the staff.

At present I think it looks like:
OLB: Barrow
MLB: Welter
OLB: Tahj Jones
IMO, come game time vs TCU, Barrow will have moved to the inside and Kwon wioll be starting at OLB.
Only negative tidbit I've seen was a practice report where some of the LBs struggled in coverage.

Well when you have Barrow staying on the outside so far, Welter in the middle( oh I done it now), and a senior in Tahj Jones on the other side, it's hard to see why he might not

I hate the kid isn't in crimson. I hope he does big things for y'all this year....just not against UA.

Yea Kwon isn't a MLB so it all depends on where Barrow ends up

That's just the result of Cam's ability to utilize the tight end position to the full extent.

I have heard nothing but great things about Kwon dating back to last year before he got hurt. He's gonna be good.

Almost a glut of talent at LB. Other than Lamin, not sure any are everydown players - yet.

Agreed
It's gonna be hard to get in the starting line-up with those guys. Apparently welter has been having a damn strong spring, so who knows how we end up in the fall.

The deal with welter is he will be in his 4th year and is suposedly very vocal. Something chavis demands out of his mlb. Usually that guys job to get people in position. If kwon and barrow cant do that, then welter will hold down the mike.

Dont know if he will be a starter but he will play a lot.
First week video of LB's working the drill to shed multiple blockers ended with Chavis chewing the blockers out because Kwon was getting through the gauntlet too easily. Basicly the LB had to run through 3-4 blockers serially and reach a dummy to end the beatdown. Kwon beat them all in about 5 sec...

It seems that Welter isn't getting much love on this board because of all the big name LB prospects that came in last year.
Reading his bio, he appears to have been a very solid kid coming out of HS. I think people should cut the kid some slack until they see him in action.
