That would help, but the point that 5 cannot play QB at this level must be abundantly clear even to the purblind on here such as DAMONE. LOL.

Seriously, most seem not to understand that QB play affects everything on the offense. No one is blaming him for drops per se, but on one long pass he has a TD if he makes a GOOD throw. He cannot read anything including what do do on an RPO. The man cannot do it. It is past time to bench him and go with Nuss or #3. Way past time.

He makes the oline look worse than it is (I was very disappointed in how they played). There are no running lanes because everyone and his mother knows he cannot take the top of a defense. He is not bright so far as being a student of the game.

Les Kelly's insanity will be revealed if we see him refuse to make a change and I do not mean sharing time. The Daniels misadventure is OVER in all but deed. While I, like all fans, would have preferred that the fantasy of 5 actually being able to play the position to have come true, it manifestly is not. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a fool and that includes Les Kelly.

How can he step up in the pocket if Turner is 2-3 yards in front of him and getting closer every second?

The defense gave up 6 straight scoring drives.

Of course, but 5 cannot play QB. If he remains starter the season will be a train wreck.

I agree but I don’t see Kelly making a change. He’s like Miles was with Jordan Jefferson.

Well, if that happens I and others here will have the bitter/sweet satisfaction of being right.

Lacy and btj had major drops.

We should see if Hilton or Sampson can beat out Lacy. So many clutch drops by him

It's comical reading all of the areas that were a concern.

I've got a better read on things. WE JUST SUCKED BALLS!

Keys to loss were not WR play or OL play.

Keys to loss were scheme on offense and defense.

1. 6-7 man protections...Ridiculous. FSU was in man most of the night. Keeping the TE AND RB in allowed 7 men in box for FSU, basically giving them two spies and a congested pocket that Daniels hates.

2. Zone blocking only...the OL is good, they held their own versus a good FSU line. But had no help with any angles being created. Absolutely no way to run the ball against that front when we are not moving TE even out of the box.

3. LB play was abysmal, absolutely atrocious. They had no idea where their zone was in pass defense. They were abused.

4. Lack of a lockdown or even kind of a lock down corner.

Clean, no. It was congested as hell. We had 14 humans directly in front of him. He was uncomfortable.

We took a weapon and basically forbid its use. JD is a runner, a great one. Let his arse run if that is his check down. Screw it.

Throw in zero adjustment at halftime on defense, using what could be the best pass rusher in college football at inside linebacker, Jayden didn't show that he improved on the pass game, muffed punt.

WR and Oline will always suffer with a QB that holds onto the ball too long and make poor passes not leading receivers and throwing on time

Anyone criticizing the Oline for their pass blocking need to go back and watch the game again. Daniels had clean pockets all night, he just flushed as soon as he felt pressure because he doesn’t step up. He gets to the top of his drop and sits, then either throws flat footed or off of his back foot entirely if he doesn’t flush. This Oline is suited for a pocket passer.

The run blocking was bad though. Zero push.

Our line did pretty well in pass protection but was an absolute disaster on the right side in run blocking. But honestly thats on Denbrock because all we did was run zone. There was no power, counter, buck sweep or anything creative in the run game. So that allowed FSU to just bully our line up front especially on the right side.

To me this all goes back to Coaching, we got out Coached and that is more disappointing to me than lack of talent. Outside of 2 plays we weren't even creative in the passing game. We should never do max protection with Daniels at QB, just not utilizing your players skillset.

The question is why did he stay in after multiple drops? It's not like they lack backups at that position.

It's both to me.

One of the strengths of this team was supposed to be the WRs. For the last several years we've been hyping up the WR room as one of the best in nation with absolute shite to show for it.

2nd half FSU drives went
FG
TD
TD
TD
TD.

We didn't stop shite.
