My gut reaction is that we could have gotten a better DC. But Steel was definitely the guy Miles was after from the beginning. Despite what anyone says about how good this guy is, his defensive stats are not particularly spectacular, over many years. That is the big concern...we should give him the benefit of the doubt until we see a product though. One thing is for sure, both Miles and his defenses will be under a large degree of scrutiny from the first game on. There will be no patience from this fanbase for Steel to grow into the position. If Brandon Harris excels as QB and there are defense problems that cause us to lose games; expect Miles to totally lose this fanbase. His gig will over.

Fixed it for you.
In all honesty, I don't know whether the guy will do well or not...but I'm going to give him a chance.......I sure as hell can't see the future. Of course, I know that 20 year old kids have everything all figured out....LMAO.

Maybe Steele didn't have the talent he had at Clemson that he will have at LSU. It wasn't the hire I was expecting either but nothing we can do now but wait and see while hoping for the best
