Someone that can remember names and faces, be punctual, respectful, and return phone calls/texts and emails in a timely fashion can be a good recruiter. Those are marginal people skills I would say.
It's all about sell, sell, sell. LSU, to a certain degree, sells itself. "You" just don't frick it up and it's all good.
Take for example Brick and Stud fricking up North La. How did that happen?

Dude you described a model employee, not someone that has to connect with kids and develop a distinct relationship with them and their families...while competing against other recruiters.

I've posted a thorough description on page 2 in this thread as to why I think Faulk would succeed as a recruiter.
I also have said I realize Miles most likely would never hire him.
And yes, that is describing a model employee.... they do get paid to recruit, thereby making it a "job". Like I said, don't frick it up and LSU sells itself as much as any program in college football. The resources for a student-athlete are top of the line.

The qualities you listed make them a nice employee, but not a good recruiter.
Other universities sell themselves too, and you can bet that their recruiters are more than just punctual, respectful, and talkative about their schools. We are not special, we need people that can build personal relationships in order to get the kids we want to attend LSU. You don't do that at the highest level (SEC) with no experience and less than special people skills. Recruiting is hard and very nuanced work.
