Average is a compliment to Welter. I'm sorry but the dude just cannot play. He gets blocked out of plays like nothing, can't cover anyone, slower than a snail and he constantly takes terrible angles.
Inquiring minds want to know why....why....why?
He must be the best alternative of the existing MLB's on the team.

There was a major drop off at MLB position last year ....

I don't think I have ever been angrier at a football player then I was at Welter last year. I am still mind boggled how he started for us. Lots of frustration.

I've been way angrier at JLee and Jordan (and most times moreso at the coach(es) who had them in the game).
Welter's a mediocre player, but he made some plays last yr. I hope Beckwith can take the job (sooner than later), but I wouldn't be surprised if he keeps the job and they rotate.
and Welter was a lot better at Mike than Hatcher (though to be fair to Hatch, he'd been a safety his 3 yrs prior, Welter's been groomed as a Mike by Chavis for yrs).
