This is a really encouraging stat. Brian Kelly wins the games he's supposed to and doesn't play down to his opponents. I'm really excited for the future of this program.

Says a lot more about Notre Dame's weak opponents than it does BK's coaching.

Have you seen ND's cupcake schedule this year? (Edit: they should be favored in 9 out of 12 games)

How many times did Miles & Orgeron teams play down to & lose to lesser opponents?

I don't really see how that matters.

Troy was a weak opponent for us. BK wouldn't have lost that game because he beats the teams he's supposed to beat.

Kelly still won them. Consistency is key! It’s not a bad thing to win the games you’re supposed to

they easily have one of the 10-15 hardest schedules in CFB this year.

Miles lost 34 games in 11 years, and very few of those games were games in which LSU was favored.

Kelly lost 39 games in 11 years at Notre Dame (playing a much easier schedule as there was no SEC gauntlet).

Ohio State
UNC
BYU
Clemson
USC

are not cupcakes

Stanford, BC, and Navy probably play them tough as well

And they also play Syracuse and Cal

this probably dates back to the 2018 season.

He's 44-6 since 2018.

So he's 4-5 as an underdog?

Yet Kelly beat both Miles & Orgeron head to head. Also, what was Orgeron's prior record at Ole Miss?

Brian Kelly had a humiliating loss to Northwestern.

Tulsa beat ND in 2010, USF in 2011.

I believe Brian Kelly is going to be an excellent coach for LSU. But, you need to quit gerrymandering stats.

Miles also had access to far better talent. Kelly will have that talent here. Those losses when he was the underdog were to SEC teams with more talented teams.

His first season there was 2010 after Charlie Weis had run them into the ground. The dude can't get his own people in there?

Only 1 of those games are at home. If OSU blows them out it's possible they are only favored in 1 or 2 of those games.
