I agree with you but unfortunately I don’t see CBK being that guy. He appears to be a very good program builder, manager as evidence by the quick turnaround in one year. But that’s where I think CBKs superiority ends.
To win the SEC and eventually the NC, you have to have a mean, nasty, physical, aggressive style of play, in my opinion. It doesn’t appear to me CBK builds that type of culture or recruits that type of player. Additionally, you don’t win NCs with dual-threat QBS; hasn’t happened since Cam, Tebow era.
I know this is will be an extremely minority opinion but I don’t think CBK ever wins a NC at LSU. Some close years but never good enough to win it all.

Kelly left Notre Dame for LSU but ok...
Kirby left ND for two reasons, to be able recruit talent and compete against the best talent at Alabama for a national title

He was fortunate to catch the SEC in a down year. A&M was weak, beat us, Arkansas was weak, Perkins saved us. Alabama wasn't Alabama strong and we beat them.
Alabama would have been drubbed by Georgia this season, but split with them the year before. Georgia drubbed us. Florida, Auburn, and KY were weaker.
TN embarrassed us, barely beat Alabama and was embarrassed by South Carolina.

You’re free to have an opinion but it’s not based on any facts. Within 5 or 6 years maybe next year, Kelly will at LSU. You’re mistakenly judging Kelly based on the talent he could sign at ND and their facilities, not at LSU’s.
