How does a SEC school with decent basketball history have a coach that can't even use set plays a high school squad makes look routine? Collis Temple and Alleva owe the fanbase an apology. JJ is a disgrace and an embarrassment. Seriously, I've seen my little cousin's middle school girls squad utilize more set plays than LSU does. I'm not exaggerating. How the frick does JJ justify this offense without sounding like an inept, clueless fool? Sure, the team will win a few games this year, but have a coach that basically says "go out there, run around and try to score I guess?" on offense doesn't cut it at this level.

LSU BB needs an offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator, passing coordinator, shooting coordinator, free throw coordinator, and awareness coordinator.

WTF does JJ and his assistants do?

This team is probably the best shooting team LSU has had in many years and the talent is getting wasted by poor coaching? Blakeney, Sampson, Sims, Robinson III, Mays, and Victor were all top 100 players coming out of HS. Sad!

Alleva came to LSU from Duke. You would at least think he could hire a good BB coach. How long do we have to endure this level of BB?

JJ may be able to recruit, but he can't coach to save his life - or for that matter - his job. LSU's defense is horrible, and we've been a piss poor free throw shooting team since JJ got here. And yes....our offense sucks balls too.

We have bigger fish to fry at this point. A good basketball team just ain't gonna happen for a few years.

I think we can all sleep well at night knowing that hiring Double J saved the alumni game.

47 points in a college basketball game is fricking pathetic. 4 games in and I can already tell this season is going to be just as inconsistent as last year. Talent will win them some games this year, but bad coaching will lose them most.

A downvote for this guy? What did he say that's wrong?

I think the Les Miles Cult has found their new object of worship.

I don't think I'll ever understand this line of thinking. Why can't this be done at the same time as everything else? Why do we have to put basketball on hold for another sport? Is it against policy to have a good football team and a good basketball team at the same time?

And what coach do you expect LSU to get after JJ? What decent basketball coach would want to come to LSU when we have the worst fans in the country. We couldn't even sell out the PMAC last year when we had the top recruit and high expectations.

Billy Gillispie will. He is at Ranger junior college and on the up and up. Can get him cheap too.

Read about what he has done at Ranger.

He also had the winningest period of bball in aTm history making the tourney year in and year out before leaving for Kentucky.

It's like the geniuses at my country club. They keep spending money on the wrong things (i.e. the swimming pool, dining room, and the driving range), but they still complain that revenues are down and we can't afford to spend money on the golf course. If they would fix the golf course, membership would grow and there would be plenty of money for the other things. In LSU's case, gotta get the football program back to national notoriety.

He's exhausted all justification, he only has the folks who pressured to get him the job to lobby for him...that's all he has. Can't retain it on merit because it's just getting worse and worse as his lack of accountability builds as it was bound to over time.

I only saw parts of the second half at lunch but the defense looked clueless as to how to play that side of the court as they almost always have under CJJ and in the short time I watched I saw No.1 (Rieth I'm guessing) miss 5 layups.

But he does have a healthy dose of melanin...isn't that enough to make a BB coach...well, that's what some folks think...

I agree JJ is not a coaching genius but you would think if we had the talent you are saying then a pick up game against Wichita State should be closer than that fiasco. Maybe the players are not good as you think!

I could coach them much better than what JJ is doing. I will come back from the Middle East and Southeast Asia to coach them and all I will need is 1.5M per year.
