No where we differ is I believe our deficiencies were due to inexperience and depth not our identity. You idiot.

ok so we have bigger line backers and actively trying to recruit bigger linebackers. Not identity change though. gotcha. We now trying to recruit Nose Tackle. Not identity change. Gotcha.

Oh and you said we haven't had problem last few years on D line. Our problem was solely offense remember?

But someone knows how to edit post lol.

I simply said we haven't been as physical up front as we have in past and I think this season has changed it with depth, returning vets, and incoming players

nvm. Im completely done with you. Just bc Miles says he has a want to play physical football doesn't mean he has it on the defensive end. He does this year. Hasn't since prolly 2011 or 12.

The problem is that the "gramps" have been fans much longer than you, have seen much more LSU football than you, and they generally are more knowledgeable than you.

LSU returns 18 starters.

THAT IS A CHANGE.

For once LSU returns elite Seniors who normally go pro. I mean these are absolute studs they returned, especially on defense.

This team is so balanced.

9 returning starters on O
9 returning starters on D

They add one of the best DC in the NCAA
They added a very passionate WR coach who I believe immediately makes a difference in the WR's.

Both are big upgrades IMO..

I mean it's fine to be skeptical, but there are some changes.. I guess Miles may still be hard headed.. but if he trust his veteran QB he will open things up.. so we shall see.. This team is flat out loaded when you think about it..

On offense alone

Got the best center in the NCAA, got 2 soph lineman who were freshman all-american (only getting stronger), got two highly projected NFL draft WR's in Dural and Dupre.. and they are backed up by a another 5 star wr/#1 player out of LA in Johnson.. who may not even be their backup.. because of the ridiculous depth.. got the best player in the NCAA at rb.. and he's backed up by another 5 star stud.. Then you got 2 upper-class QB's who both have NCAA starting experience I believe.

Finally.. have an experienced team on both sides of the ball and extremely talented.

Again, 9 returning offensive starters..

9 returning defensive players..

and to think.. LSU may even add Travonte Valentine to the dline. If that happens.. this team has some tremendous depth on the line.

Orgeron took over LSU who was last in the entire SEC in sacks a season prior.. and in his first season.. immediately had us tied for 3rd in the SEC in sacks.. think about that change. We had as many sacs as a&m and yet one less game.. and everyone thinks they have such a great d-line.. we have more depth.

I believe we had a net of +15 sacks or so.. AND WE MISSED out on a cupcake game at home.. these stats probably would be even more impressive..

Harris is what should have been a 10 win first year starter.. (cancelled game) heading into his 3rd year in the program and will be a Junior.. Whether people want to recognize it or not. He, just like Mett, did show some flashes of his talent at times.. even in the Alabama game.. which he was playing hurt with a sports hernia. He has added tremendous size.. and hopes that the weight keeps him healthy. He had a nice game against the Florida D.. and should only improve with experience and trust from Miles.

This team has the feel of 2011, but of course we should be skeptical until Miles shows he can win in November again.. but as a fan.. it's still exciting for our players and other fans..

2013 we had the offense to make noise, but unfortunately the defense wasn't experienced.

This year we are balanced on both sides of the ball. in terms of experience, depth, and ridiculous talent.

You both have valid points, and I agree with the gist of what you're saying. It's why we performed well against teams like A&M and Oregon and struggled against Arky and Bama. Hopefully, we'll find that balance this year that allows us to shut down both power and finesse teams.

Hell, I even struggle to reach that perfect balance on NCAA 14 for XBOX.

In Truth's defense, there has been a lot of "looks like Tarzan, plays like Jane" under Moffitt.

But Ed O could motivate a preying mantis to tackle a lion, so...I'm glad our guys are built.

"Not so fast. We've heard this same stuff more than once before."

Good point brother. You do hear the same stuff over and over. I'm a huge fan but I must wait and see for myself. We should be more physical on the lines with everyone returning. That's not a bold statement to make.

They need to train like they did when they prepared for Oregon all summer.

Since Moffit's job is the "looks like Tarzan" part how is this on Moffit?
