the program is on par with 2002, developing talent, but not yet consistent or deep enough. There is no one comparable to Dupree yet, but another good class and retention of current group could propel them into the top 4 of teh SEC.

When recruiting JUCO players, you not only have to recruit the kid, but you have to evaluate his JUCO coach. The quality of coaching varies at the JUCO level from someone like McConathy (who coached at Bossier Parish CC for a long time) to coaches that are better fit for the AAU level. Unlike HS recruiting you don't have 4 years to make up for poor coaching. There are some solid JUCO programs around the country that produce solid JUCO kids on a consistent basis, like Missiouri-West Plains and Hutchinson CC (KS), but sometimes those are the exceptions to the rule.
