Josh Smith / Rangers playing on Fox

For those shitty blackouts, it’s nice to be able to watch him play. He’s batting #3 and playing 3B for the defending champs. That’s a bit different than most thought would happen for his career.

Why? Josh Smith was an absolute stud. His LSU career was cut short by injury, not because he struggled.

100%. I’m a Rangers fan and a Josh Smith fan. He’s having a great season so far. Nice to be able to watch him/them play.

Majority of people on here are complete and total morons. Josh Smith was a Bregman/Crews level player at LSU.

Josh hit .281 as a true Fr, missed most of his soph season, and hit .346 as a junior.
Bregs out paced him all three years respectively and I don’t think Dylan ever hit as low as .346.
IMO. Bregs and Crews are all-time greats. Josh isn't.

That's all fine a dandy. Crews is the best player to ever put on an LSU uniform, and that's saying a whole lot. So obviously Smith doesn't quite measure up. The numbers you cited for Smith were rittled with injury. He was every bit as good as Bregman, and maybe better defensively. And that's not even a slight knock on Bregman. You can't use just numbers when the kid spent most of his LSU career injured. If he would have had 3 healthy years we would talk about him in the exact same breath as the greats.

When was Josh hurt at LSU? I know he missed most of '18 due to an injury. Was not aware of others.
He may be our best glove at 3B all time from his '17 season. He was not as good as Alex at SS period.
