No, Like I said he probably thought this was the best way to go about it, While NCST was running around all hectic you throw it in and see if you can pull a miracle off.

You are a special type of idiot. There was only .1 seconds on the clock without a timeout.

I know you are the basketball guru on this board but a bone head NCST off ball foul is probably just as likely as a full court alley-oop. Really not much of anything could work here

So Jones did the right thing by giving up?

Still, Jax, we have to at least try for a miracle. Just don't quit.

If college basketball let you advance to mid court after a to, then yeah i get what youre saying. LSU would've had to throw an alley oop the length of the floor and let someone tap it in. Damn near impossible.

The only logical way it makes any sense to not call the timeout would have been if the retards on the n.c. state bench had got on the floor then you throw it in and get a tech called on them. However that requires a shitty ref crew to 1. have the insight to realize that N.C state has broken the rules and 2. have the balls to call a unpopular correct call that basically crushes N.C state.

It is damn near impossible but its not impossible. Just tossing the ball in with .1 seconds in was the wrong call unless N.C state had lost control of their bench. I'm surprised a retard like Gotffired had control of his players.

They quit with 10 minutes left, why worry about the last half second?

Missing 6 straight free throws gets ya beat... no excuses and Jones can't shoot them. Johnny has a lot to prove as a bench coach, but this is a stretch.

I never said that missing the free throws isn't what beat us or that the loss was on Jones. In fact I've said the loss mostly falls on the players for choking. Its rare that a loss can ever be pinned to one person and one action. The concerning part over Jones not calling a timeout is his lack of situational awareness. He got caught up in the moment, or he isn't smart enough to realize the correct coaching move. The process is what concerns me, if Jones isn't aware or smart enough to handle this moment correctly how can we trust him to make it when his decision will actually make the difference. We lost this game with 10 minutes left when we went girls basketball mode and couldn't make a layup. We were very fortunate that N.C state also happened to be extremely cold from the field and our D kept us from getting shite stomped.

Jones and the players have a lot to learn from this game. Jones needs to spend all summer with his face down in management books and going over in game situation. Id also love him to read some things on negations that maybe help him learn how to intimidate refs into giving us calls.

The players need a new S&C program. Ideally id love to see Mickey put on about 10-15 pounds of muscle. He gets dominated by big physical guys. Martin needs to shed the baby fat if he comes back. Malone needs to add muscle as well. The team also has to get mentally tougher.

All in all Jones has done a good job of raising us from the dumps. He has his faults but things are looking up with LSU basketball. I think we get lost on that fact sometimes by the amount of bad losses we had this year. IMO everything that went wrong this year is a teachable correctable moment if Jones and the team believe that it was a weakness that caused this loss and the other losses.

Even Trent had players he could sub in.

2-14

7-9

Know what those are? Trent Johnson's conference records at LSU outside of that first season when he was playing with a roster built by John Brady.

Yes, that say 5 SEC wins in TWO FULL SEASONS... But at least he had a bench, right?
