Considering the last times we have thrown that much, you would think that people would know this.

It's not us; it's them. They don't lose when the other team throws the ball often. The most an SEC team has thrown on them and won was Auburn at 22 attempts.

Are you suggesting he didn't? Is your hatred so bad for him that you can't even admit when he plays well?

Really?? I guess it's because he pitches to the RB so often...

You are delusional and you come off as if you know nothing about the game of football. JJ will be a factor to this Bama game, he can pass the ball, he's already done so this season. Don't even dare bring up past stats. I wonder wtf are some of you smoking. A Bama defense will be overwhelming for JL or JJ, that's why it is a blessing that we have both. Establishing the run, stout defense, and no turnovers will win the game. Usually when a team is pass heavy, they are playing catchup.

JJ didnt soften them up by himself. the constant pounding they took softened them. We havent played a team with as much depth as us yet

I can assure you that I dislike you far more than I've ever disliked JJ.

No hatred here.... Good try though.

JJ runs better....our passing game suffers. Oh and if you remember it's a PASSING threat which moves the safeties back, NOT MORE RUNNING.

With Jefferson in, it lessens this advantage because they have to account for two runners in the backfield.

With Lee in the LB's and safeties actually have to watch for the pass instead of pinning their ears back and charging their gaps upfield.

If we can get one or two good, time consuming drives against Alabama with Jefferson in the game, then we increase our chances ten fold.

That statement works equally well with JL instead of JJ, YOUR BIAS IS SHOWING. In fact, isnt our average time of possession higher this year than years past?

If we try to sling the ball all over the field against Alabama, we lose.

Strawman arguments FTW!

Look, you really like JJ. That's cool, but he is not the passing threat needed to keep their Defense honest.....and JJ's running wont keep them honest, sorry.

This Bama defense has little resemblance to UT's. JJ will play a part, but I don't suspect he will experience the success he had vs UT against Bama.

I hope like hell we don't see the same game plan vs Bama we saw vs UT.

So, you're telling me when JJ's in the game, the ypc are better? Now, is this for anyone else besides him?

Are there some stats out there that back this up?

Agree

No, it doesn't. It means that they don't have to worry about the pass and can focus strictly on the run.

Why wouldn't this be good with Lee in the game?
quote:

I do think our passing game (especially Randle) needs to come up with big plays, but it's more of a "take your shots when they're there" philosophy.

Would think most people agree.

Don't know anybody that wants to beat Bama by slinging the ball down the field. But, by mixing up the run with play action pass, bubble screens, etc., that's what I believe it will take to beat them. The best QB to do that is Lee. With JJ, your team becomes completely one dimensional, run. That's why we were so horrible last year on offense.

We had 47 yards on 18 attempts in the first half (2.6 ypc).

Once Jefferson came in the second half, we gained 213 yards on 34 carries (6.2 ypc).

yep, cant have things that shred your arguments (like 106th rated passer) come into play.

Then you just look stupid.

tough to run the ball against 8-9 man fronts.
