You do realize that despite the scheme, size of school neither Crowton or LSU has ever been ranked this low

I do have to agree Moss that JJ looks worse this year despite improvements in every position of the offense. Crowton was calling the same plays last year and JJ was executing them and people were on here 3/1 advocating for JJ. Now what has happened? Has Crowton began calling the worst, hardest plays to execute? Or, has JJ regressed on his own doing?

I have never seen a player, at any position, regress as much as our QBs have under Crowton.

BYU was near the bottom in 2002 and 2003.

Furthermore, Jordan Jefferson isn't near the QB as John Beck and Dennis Dixon.

It's all relative. If you have two QBs that end being Top 5 in the country, yet your offenses are mediocre at best, what do you think is going to happen when you get a QB that is no where near Top 5 in the country?

It's a combination of a bunch of things.

Neither of our QBs are top tier quality. Both make a host of fundamental mistakes that have never been addressed by the coaching staff. In addition, we run a terribly ineffective scheme with irrational play calling.

But, as I said in another thread yesterday, what is the quickest patch?

You can't cut Jefferson or Lee because you only have two scholarship QBs.

You can bench Jefferson in favor of Lee, but that comes with a huge question mark. Lee has never done anything on the field that would suggest he is solely capable of turning this thing around.

But you can release Crowton immediately. Miles is a former offensive coordinator and Gonzales was specifically brought in to adapt the offense. We can still run an offense in the absence of Crowton. In fact, it's almost a guarantee that our offense would improve once Crowton leaves as it really can't get any worse.

With his contract, I don't think Les is really worried about his job being on the line. Eveen if he was to get fired, he could sit out in the back yard for the next several years and Bar-be-que on our tab. We cut a bad deal and his agent had enough on the ball to cut a good one - for them.

But have you guys prepared yourselves for a possible scenerio where Lee plays and our offense is still really, really bad?

Na, its all about the mystique at this point
