Who cares? People have been saying stuff like this for a while. You will also hear from former players that everyone was at the hotel prepping for the game.
Bottom line is the coaches did not have them mentally prepped for a rematch of that size. Maybe we thought we could do what we did in Tuscaloosa and get away with another W. Maybe that caused the team to write off Bama.
The most telling thing I've heard post 1/9/12 was when the Honey Badger admitted to laying awake the night before the game wondering why they had to play bama again. That should've been the furthest thing from his mind. Some of you will disagree with this but that falls squarely on the coaches IMO. Attitude is huge for football. It's the job of the coaches to instill the attitude they want going into the game. They should've gone into that rematch pissed off and hungry for blood. Instead they couldn't drop tired old thoughts and were too hung up on "why".
I may be way off. I'm not on the team and that's just my own speculation. With that being said they certainly played and coached like they had something else on their minds.
