That was an exciting game with a great ending (for LSU, of course). I think that Coach Johnson is getting this team together for a run.

Some local radio caller noted that LSU baseball tends to ramp it up after Tax Day. I certainly hope that is true.

All the JJ haters have gone silent. If we get to host a Regional, JJ will have exceeded my expectations for his first year.

Poor JJ. Sometimes I bet he wonders what he got himself into with this bunch.

I think a regional is a low expectation based on the talent this team has. I think a more realistic expectation that would be hard to exceed would be a super regional. He took over a team that is very talented and then he got several very good transfers. He has his work cut out for him after this year and then we will see if he can bring in top players and win consistently.

Fielding has decreased but batting is much improved and the way he approaches pitching is great.

I say all this as s huge fan of CJJ.

What he has done with this pitching staff is nothing short of amazing.

This is no surprise to Johnson, he's mentioned on numerous occasions that he knew what the expectations were here.

Sorry I just woke up from a nap I've been taking since 2016. What did Johnny Jones get done today?

Especially with Hilliard being the only weekend starter that can be counted on to go 5+. I don't know what he is going to do with Money as he is not getting it done and taxing the BP.

This can’t be said enough imho. Yeah he obviously inherited a handful of outstanding hitters, but what he and Kelly have been able to throw together with our pitchers is truly remarkable.
