His call last week for the Thursday night Florida game was 3 kinds of terrible.
"And that's a HR, no but the runner will cross the plate, wait he didn't tag up. I can't beleive this."
How about you just call what you see Jim. That's all we're asking.

That call was messed up. What blew my mind was you could hear the LSU crowd cheering loudly as JH is calling it a double play.

I am a voice guy. Done some sports, lots of horse shows, commercials and I am an auctioneer. I would like u guys to try it sometimes. It's a bitch! Hawthorne is 2-3 times better than anybody in the league. Y'all that bitch don't know what the hell u talking about. He is amazingly good. Trust me

well if chewing tobaccey pete from bumfrickville, usa has done some pig auctions than we better not expect our PBP announcer to not say that the whitest defensive black on the team made the play on an offensive TD to the darkest player on the team during the biggest call of the PBP announcer's career.

No offense, Pete, but the only people that think Hawthorne is even bearable are guys like you, that maybe make a call at a high school game in front of 75 fans, or work a 4-H convention. And that's only because you dream of meeting someone famous and maybe getting an autograph.
JH may have "good voice". But trying to listen to him call a game is torture. You never, ever know what the hells going on because he is clueless.

Festus and Maximus. U might think I only call high school games but u are sadly mistaken. Don't let the name fool u. I am an 07 phd grad from lsu and have called some major events. I really don't care if u believe me. Just letting u know. At any rate, I know voice work very well. Do this: listen to other broadcast from around the country and then make the call.

Why the hell do I need to make the call? I never claimed to be a radio announcer, and I don't make a shitload of money doing it. If it makes you feel better, I'll admit that Hawthorne is better than me.
But he's a shitty announcer, and a university as prestigious as LSU deserves much, much better. Do this: listen to a game he's calling and ask yourself why you can't tell what the hell is going on.
