I can only imagine the meltdown if Miles let Jennings come in during a close game and Jennings screw up

Which is not what anyone is talking about.

It is a QB getting reps in a game that is already decided with a chance to lead the offense and not just hand the ball of 3 times and punt

That's not going to do anything to get someone ready for an actual pressure situation where a defense has prepared to stop you.

So real game experience means nothing? Okay...

Where is the pressure? The backup gets more meaningful snaps against our defense in practice. Are you going to answer why no coaches of big programs does this if it is such an obvious benefit?

With nothing on the line? No. It's a glorified practice.

Why are we talking like Jennings didn't get real game experience?

It was a true freshman's first start in wet conditions, in basically a meaningless game. Not the end of the world the way he played.

Can we stop with the "meaningless game" thing? It's amateur sports--it's all meaningless in the end. But a bowl game is as important a game as any once the NC is out of reach.

Because he played like shite and had a deer in the headlights look for most of the game?

His best plays were handing the ball off to Hill

You've missed the point. It's OK.

It's still a chance to go against the other team's defense. Not them stacking 10 in the box because you are in a goal line package at the opponent's 20 yard line.

I wouldn't have hated for AJ to have gotten a few drives where he actually tried to move the offense down the field.

And you think cleaning up Furman would have changed that?

I think Jim is saying that Jennings got some very meaningful snaps against Arky

He plays better defenses in practice. Give it a rest.

I don't think it would have hurt him to actually run the real offense during an actual game in front of people.

Would it have changed anything? I don't know. To assume it would or wouldn't is dealing with hypotheticals, but I think reps of him leading the offense would be benficial to a young QB

You ever going to answer why none of the people that get paid millions of dollars to coach for a living don't do this?
